NEXT IS OUR UPDATE ON THE 2050 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN, [6. 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Updates: http://routeto2050.org] AND WE HAVE MR. RESTREPO HERE TO GIVE US THE UPDATE. >> HELLO. GOOD AFTERNOON. MY NAME IS CHRISTOPHER RESTREPO, ONE OF YOUR PROJECT MANAGERS FOR THE ROUTE TO 2050, ALSO KNOWN AS OUR METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN. TODAY IS TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON THE ACTIVITIES THAT WE ARE DOING ON THE PLAN RIGHT NOW. YOU'VE GUESSED IT, WE'RE WORKING ON RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT FOR OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN. FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS ALREADY REACHED OUT TO US. THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF EMAILS, APOLOGIES IF THEY'RE NOT A RIGHT ON TIME, BUT PLEASE HAVE SOME PATIENCE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT PATIENCE, AND WE'RE GOING TO TRY TO ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT. AT OUR LAST TAC MEETING, WE WERE ASKED TO CONDENSE ALL OF THE MEETINGS FOR THESE ONE ON ONE MEETINGS THAT WE'RE HAVING TO THE MONTH OF JUNE. WELL, THIS IS THE END OF JUNE AND NOT EVERYONE HAS MET WITH US YET. WE ARE GOING TO BE EXTENDING THE MEETINGS INTO THE MONTH OF JULY, IF YOU SO WISH TO MEET WITH US TO DISCUSS THE PROJECTS THAT ARE IN OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN OR THE PROCESS OF WHICH THE PROJECTS TOOK TO GET INTO THE COST FEASIBLE PLAN. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROJECTS THAT DID NOT MAKE IT INTO IT, YOU CAN ASK THOSE QUESTIONS AND WE'RE GLAD TO TALK THROUGH THEM. LIKE I SAID, WE'RE GOING TO EXTEND THESE MEETINGS INTO THE MONTH OF JULY. I WILL UPDATE THAT LINK THAT I SENT OUT TO YOU LAST MONTH, AND I WILL SEND THAT LINK BACK OUT IN A NEW EMAIL SO THAT YOU'LL ALL BE GETTING THAT SOON. WHAT WE'LL DO IS WE'LL DISCUSS ALL THE PROJECTS THAT MADE INTO THE PLAN AND THE PROJECTS THAT DID NOT, WHAT WE NEED FROM RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT FOR THE PROJECTS TO REMAIN IN THE PLAN AND WHO IS INVITED YOURSELVES, ANY STAFF MEMBERS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MEETING AS WELL. WE DID MEET ORIGINALLY WITH CITY MANAGERS AND ELECTED OFFICIALS IN OUR FIRST CALL FOR PROJECTS MEETING. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVITE THEM AGAIN TO THESE, YOU'RE MORE THAN WELCOME TO DO SO. LET'S TALK ABOUT RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT. YOU'VE SEEN THIS SLIDE AGAIN BEFORE, BUT WE'LL JUST TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN. WE ARE ASKING FOR RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT TO BE SUBMITTED TO US BY SEPTEMBER 6. WHAT THESE LETTERS OF SUPPORT CONSIST OF IS SOME DRAFT LANGUAGE THAT WE HAVE SENT OUT TO YOU DESCRIBING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MPO AND YOU AS A PARTNER AGENCY, WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT THE PROJECTS TO SIT IN THE PLAN FOR, AND IT'LL HAVE EVERYTHING FROM PROJECT INFORMATION LIKE PROJECT SCOPE, PROJECT ELEMENTS, AND LIMITS OF THE PROJECT, WHICH WE WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU AS A LIST OF PROJECTS IN A PDF FORM FROM OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN. [00:05:03] IF THE PROJECT THAT YOU HAVE THAT WAS SUPPORTED BY YOURSELVES THAT FALLS ON A STATE ROAD OR A COUNTY ROADWAY FACILITY, AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY COLLABORATION WITH THOSE FACILITY OWNERS, WE WOULD NEED A LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM THOSE FACILITY OWNERS THAT SHOW THAT THEY CONCUR WITH THE PROJECT SO THAT WE CAN GET FUNDS PROGRAMMED ONTO IT. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY RIGHT NOW SO THAT IT CAN STAY IN THE PLAN, BUT FOR THE PROGRAMMING CYCLE THAT STARTS UP IN JANUARY OF NEXT YEAR, WE WILL NEED THAT LETTER OF SUPPORT. THIS IS WHERE WE ARE WITH OUR SCHEDULE, JUNE JULY. WE'RE STILL MEETING WITH ALL OF ALL TO DISCUSS PROJECTS. HOPEFULLY, WE CAN GET INTO THOSE COMMISSION MEETINGS TO GET RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT THIS SUMMER. RESOLUTIONS ARE DUE SEPTEMBER 6. WE'LL HAVE A DRAFT MTP BY OCTOBER, AND THEN WE'LL HOPEFULLY GO FOR ADOPTION IN DECEMBER. ALSO ON THE HORIZON, WE HAVE TWO FUN ACTIVITIES THAT WE WILL BE HOSTING THIS SUMMER AND LATE SUMMER. THE FIRST IS OUR E-TOWNHALL, THAT'LL BE DONE ON JULY 30. IT'LL BE A VIRTUAL E-TOWNHALL, ELECTRONIC TOWNHALL. WE HAVE A VARIETY OF GUEST SPEAKERS. SOME OF THEM YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE, STEVE BRAN FROM FDOT, COLBURN, OUR CHAIR FOR THE APART PO BOARD, AND THEN MONICA SPIRO, THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR. IT'S GOING TO BE MODERATED BY JOE YSPECK, PLEASE BE EXCITED. IT'S GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUN. TUNE IN, IT'S GOING TO BE HOSTED VIA ZOOM. YOU CAN REGISTER FOR THE EVENT ON OUR WEBSITE, ON OUR CALENDAR. THEY HAVE LINKS THERE. THEN ALSO, IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN PERSON INTO OUR MTP SUMMIT THIS SEPTEMBER, IT'S GOING TO BE HOSTED AT THE MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE IN FORT LAUDERDALE. SOMETHING VERY INTERACTIVE, SUPER FUN, SUPER CUTE. WE WILL ALSO BE HOSTING OUR BOARD MEETING THAT DAY, SO DRESS NICE. HAVE A GOOD JACKET ON, REALLY CUTE. THEN ENJOY EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE ALL WORKED SO HARD ON WITH THIS MTP BECAUSE THIS PLAN IS A REFLECTION OF US AND ALL OF YOU ALL. IT'LL BE A FUN TIME TO CELEBRATE. THAT'S MY UPDATE. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU, CHRISTOPHER. ANY QUESTIONS ON THE UPDATE? NO. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU. >> OUR NEXT ITEM IS THE MOTION TO ELECT OFFICERS THAT WOULD SERVE FOR THE NEXT YEAR, [7. MOTION TO ELECT OFFICERS to Serve for the Next Year (July 2024 Through June 2025): A. Chair B. Vice Chair] JULY THROUGH JUNE OF '25. I'M GOING TO HAND IT OVER TO BILL TO HELP US THROUGH OPENING THE FLOOR UP TO NOMINATIONS. >> THANK YOU, CHAIR. THERE I WAS, TOOK A MOMENT. GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE. WE'RE GOING TO DO OUR ANNUAL ELECTIONS, AND WE DID RECEIVE ONE PERSON WHO HAS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN THE CHAIR POSITION, WHICH WOULD BE THROUGH OUR VICE CHAIR. THAT'S HOW WE FREQUENTLY ROLL HERE. WE ALSO RECEIVED SOME EMAILS WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POTENTIAL SLATE OF NOMINEES. WE CAN'T REALLY BRING THOSE FORWARD TO YOU THAT WAY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A MOTION FROM THE FLOOR OR NOMINATE SOMEBODY FROM THE FLOOR, THAT WOULD BE THE WAY WE WOULD LIKE TO OPERATE. WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME NEW LEADERSHIP. KAREN HAS DONE A FANTASTIC JOB FOR US, BUT THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY, SO SELECT WISELY. >> THANK YOU. ARE THERE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS FOR CHAIR? NO. SHOULD WE DO THESE SEPARATE, BILL? CAN WE DO THESE SEPARATE OR WE DO CHAIR FIRST, AND THEN WE'LL ASK FOR NOMINATIONS FOR VICE CHAIR. EXCELLENT. CAN I HEAR A MOTION TO ELECT MASUUD FOR CHAIR? GIVE REBECCA JUST A SECOND ON THAT ONE. THE MOTION IS MADE BY DON, SECOND AND BY VIVIANA. ANY COMMENTS? NO. HOLD ON. REBECCA IS WORKING ON THE FLY HERE. [LAUGHTER] >> A WHILE I'M TYPING THIS. DOES MASUUD WANT TO SPEAK TO THE COMMITTEE? ANY COMMENTARY? MASUUD. >> GIVE HER A COUPLE SECONDS TO TYPE FAST. [LAUGHTER] [00:10:01] >> THANK YOU. >> PUSH YOUR REQUEST. >> THANK YOU. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU IN FACT, THOUGH STILL YOU HAVE TO VOTE AS I SERVED AS A VICE CHAIRMAN, SO I THOUGHT I CAN SERVE AS A CHAIRMAN IF YOU WANT. THANK YOU. >> EXCELLENT. THANKS. ARE WE GOOD? >> I BELIEVE WE'RE READY FOR A MOTION IN A SECOND. MOTION FOR MASUUD FOR CHAIR. >> EXCELLENT. IF WE CAN DO THAT ONE OVER. MOTION MADE BY JENNA, SECONDED BY VIVIANA, AND WE'LL CALL FOR A VOTE. EXCELLENT. CONGRATULATIONS, CHAIR. [APPLAUSE] NEXT, WE DO NEED NOMINATIONS FOR VICE CHAIR. IF ANYBODY WOULD LIKE TO SELF NOMINATE OR NOMINATE SOMEONE ELSE FOR VICE CHAIR. ANYBODY? IT'S NOT THAT HARD. >> AS I DON'T SEE ANYONE THERE ACTUALLY, I WANT TO NOMINATE. I'M NOT SURE. MAYBE NEXT PERSON. NEXT TO ME, KAREN IF YOU WANT, I CAN NOMINATE YOU. [LAUGHTER] NOMINATE SOMEONE. >> LIKE SOMEBODY WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED. IT'S A FUN EXPERIENCE. I DON'T WANT TO FORCE ANYBODY TO DO IT, BUT WE DO NEED A VICE CHAIR. >> CHAIR. >> YES, SIR. >> MAYBE WE CAN HAVE MCCUE TALK ABOUT ALL THE BENEFITS OF BEING VICE CHAIR. [LAUGHTER] >> SOUNDS LIKE NOBODY IS INTERESTED HERE TO BE VICE CHAIR. YOU ARE INTERESTED? CAN HEAD ON THE SCREEN. >> [INAUDIBLE] >> UNTIL SOMEBODY VOLUNTEERS. [BACKGROUND] CAN YOU DO YOUR RTS? TRY IT AGAIN. >> OKAY. >> THERE YOU GO. >> CAN I ACTUALLY NOMINATE DANIEL? >> NO. [LAUGHTER]. >> DANIEL. >> TECHNICALLY, YOU CAN NOMINATE ME. I'VE JUST STARTED A NEW POSITION, AND I'M TRYING TO GET MY HANDS AROUND IT. THIS YEAR WOULD NOT BE IDEAL FOR ME TO TRY TO TAKE ON A NEW RESPONSIBILITY WHEN I'M TRYING TO DO SO MUCH AND FOR MY CITY. I APPRECIATE THIS AND WOULD DEFER TO 2025. BUT I'LL BEYOND THAT FOR THAT ONE. >> WE NEED SOMEBODY. COME ON. GILTED INTO IT. I CAN SEE IT. >> I'D LIKE TO NOMINATE. >> HOLD ON. WHERE ARE YOU? >> I NOMINATE NATALIE IN RESPECT. I PUT RTA. >> GOOD. WE CAN HAVE THE MOTION. THANK YOU, NATALIE. MOTION MADE BY DON, SECONDED BY MACK SUIT. ANY OTHER COMMENTS? SEEING NONE, I CALL FOR A VOTE TO ELECT NATALIE AS OUR VICE CHAIR. [00:15:01] I'M WAITING ON NATALIE AND DON. THANK YOU, AND CLARISSA. MOTION CARRIES. CONGRATULATIONS. [APPLAUSE]. THE NEW SLATE OF OFFICERS WILL BE STARTING AT THE NEXT MEETING. JENNA. >> NO. >> NO. YOU'RE GOOD. THANK YOU. WE'LL MOVE ON TO OUR ACTION ITEMS NEXT. [1. PUBLIC MEETING AND MOTION TO RECOMMEND BROWARD MPO APPROVE the Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)] OUR ONE AND ONLY ACTION ITEM IS A PUBLIC MEETING AND MOTION TO RECOMMEND THE BROWARD MPO APPROVE THE DRAFT FISCAL YEAR 25-29 TIP. WE HAVE DR. CHEN HERE TO GIVE A SHORT PRESENTATION. >> THANK YOU, MADAM CHAIR. COMMITTEE MEMBERS, GOOD AFTERNOON. I'M THE HUNG CHEN BROWARD MPO. IT'S TIME OF THE YEAR TO UPDATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IS AN ANNUAL ROUTINE PROCESS FOR THE BROWARD MPO. YOU MAY WONDER, WHAT IS TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IS A FIVE YEAR PROGRAM, INCLUDING PROJECTS THAT THE REGION EXPECT TO BUILD OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS. THOSE PROJECTS INCLUDE HIGHWAY, TRANSIT, RAIL, AIR, AND SEAPORT, AS WELL AS BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN, AND FLEET RELATED PROJECTS. TODAY, I'M PRESENTING FISCAL YEAR 2025-2029 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN THE BROWARD MPOS CORE PRODUCTS FOR MANY TIME. TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IS ONE OF THE CORE PRODUCTS. THIS SLIDE SHOWS BROWARD MPO PLANNING PROCESS BY FOLLOWING FEDERAL AND STATE REGULATIONS, THE BROWARD MPO UPDATES METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN EVERY FIVE YEARS. UPDATE MMPL AND THE TIP ANNUALLY. PROJECTS IN THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN, MOVE TO MMPL AND THEN MOVE TO FDOT DRAFT A TENTATIVE WORK PROGRAM AT LAST, MOVE TO THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR IMPLEMENTATION. ACCORDING TO FEDERAL AND STATE REGULATIONS, THE BROWARD MPO STAFF CREATED THIS TIP DEVELOPMENT PROCESS. BASED ON THIS PROCESS, BROWARD MPO PREPARES DRAFT TIP. STARS 30 DAYS PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD HOSTS PUBLIC MEETINGS, AND TAC, CAC BOARD APPROVES THE TIP. AT LAST, THE MPO SENT FINAL APPROVED TIP TO FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION. FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AND FDOT ON JULY 15TH. THIS TIP WILL BE TAKE EFFECT ON OCTOBER 1ST. FOLLOWING FEDERAL AND STATE REQUIREMENTS TO TIP, THE BROWARD MPO RELEASED PUBLIC NOTICE ON NEWSPAPERS, BROWARD MPO WEBSITE. BROWARD MPO MOBILITY MANDATE, SOCIAL MEDIA AND EIGHT PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN BROWARD COUNTY. THIS SLIDE IS A SUMMARY OF THE PUBLIC NOTICE. LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE TIP FOR THIS YEAR. THE TIP INCLUDES 441 PROJECTS, WORTH ABOUT 5.7 BILLION DOLLAR. THIS SLIDE SHOWS FUNDING SUMMARY BY SOURCE AND THE TRANSPORTATION MODE. THE GRAPH LEFT DISPLAYS FUNDING AMOUNT FOR EACH FUNDING SOURCE AND THE RESPECTIVE PERCENTAGE IN TOTAL. THE STATE IS NUMBER 1, CONTRIBUTOR TO THE TIP. THE GRAPH ON RIGHT, DISPLAYS FUNDING AMOUNT FOR TRANSPORTATION MODE AND THE PERCENTAGE IN TOTAL. THIS TIP INVESTS $157 MILLION OF [00:20:03] BROWARD MPO ATTRIBUTABLE FOR FUNDS SUPPORTING 59 PROJECTS. ABOUT $83 MILLION IS VESTED ON 41 BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN PROJECTS. LET'S TAKE A QUICK REVIEW ON MAJOR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS. THIS SLIDE HIGHLIGHTS FOUR MAJOR PRODUCTS. TWO MAJOR PROJECTS ON HIGHWAY. ONE IS ON SAWGRASS EXPRESSWAY, AND THE OTHER ONE IS ON SOUTH WEST 10TH STREET. THE MAJOR PROJECTS ALSO INCLUDE TWO TRANSIT PROJECTS. ONE IS BROWARD COMMUTER RAIL SOURCE, AND THE SFRTA PROJECTS. SFRTA RECEIVE FTA FUNDS FOR ROLLING STOCK, REPLACEMENT, AND EXPANSION. THIS SLIDE PRESENTS OVERALL FUNDING FOR MTP FUNDING PROGRAMS, NUMBER OF PROJECTS AND ASSOCIATED FUNDING AMOUNT PRESENT ON THIS SLIDE. OVERALL, THE TIP INVESTS $764 MILLION SUPPORTING 80 PROJECTS FROM MTP FUNDING PROGRAMS. THE BROWARD MPO STAFF ALSO MONITORS PROJECT TO PROGRESS IN THE TIP. THIS SLIDE INCLUDES PROJECTS GRADUATED FROM THE TIP. WHAT IS THE GRADUATED PROJECTS? ALL FUNDS FOR THE PROJECT HAS BEEN SECURED BEFORE AND ON FISCAL YEAR 2024. NO ADDITION NEED BEYOND 2024. THERE ARE 89 PROJECTS WORTH ABOUT $1.3 BILLION. HOW TO ACCESS THE DOCUMENT. YOU CAN ACCESS THE PDF, THROUGH THE LINK ON THE TOP, AND YOU CAN ACCESS THE TIP, SERVE THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM. THIS IS THE INTERACT TIP. YOU CAN DO SEARCH AND ALSO YOU CAN PRINT MUNICIPAL REPORT THROUGH THIS WEBSITE THROUGH THIS LINK. TODAY, THE BROWARD MPO STAFF IS SEEKING MOTION TO RECOMMEND BROWARD MPO APPROVE THIS DRAFT TIP. FOLLOWING MY PRESENTATION, THE TURNPIKE STAFF KATINA, WE WILL BE PRESENT TURNPIKE PRODUCTS ON MAIN TURNPIKE LINE. AFTER THOSE PRESENTATIONS, WE WILL TAKE QUESTIONS. FDOT STAFF, MPO STAFF, AND THE PLANNING PARTNER STAFF ARE HERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS IN YOU MAY HAVE. NOW, I TURN THE PODIUM OVER TO KATINA. >> THANK YOU. GRACIOUS. THANK YOU. GOOD AFTERNOON. MY NAME IS KATINA CABCLES. I'M WITH THE TURNPIKE ENTERPRISE. I AM THE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING MANAGER, AND I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY SO THAT WE CAN TALK ABOUT THE ENTERPRISES PROJECTS IN BROWARD COUNTY. LET ME SEE. IS THIS CORRECT? HERE WE GO. I DO APOLOGIZE. THIS IS CLICKER. THE WIDENING OF THE TURNPIKE FROM I-595 TO WILES ROAD IS A 17 MILE PROJECT THAT INCLUDES SIX NEW INTERCHANGES. THE PROJECT NEEDS AND BENEFITS INCLUDE ACCOMMODATING TRAFFIC DEMANDS AND 2019-2045, THERE WILL BE AN INCREASE IN TRAFFIC BY 44%. IMPROVE TRAVEL TIME, WHICH IS NOT ONLY US THAT WOULD HELP ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE BACKUP ON THE TURNPIKE, BUT IT WOULD ALSO REDUCE THE TRAFFIC DELAYS ON I-95, AND SOME OF OUR LOCAL ROADS, SUCH AS POWER LINE, STATE ROAD 7, AND LIONS ROAD, AND IT WOULD ALSO IMPROVE SAFETY. COMMUNITY IS AT THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING THAT WE DO. WE HAVE COORDINATED WITH OUR COUNTY, OUR CITY, AND OUR LOCAL PARTNERS. AS IF YOU CAN SEE, WE'VE DONE OUR DUE DILIGENCE AND WE'RE VERY ACTIVELY COMMUNICATING WITH ALL OUR SHAREHOLDERS. NOW, LET'S TALK ABOUT SUCCESSFUL COORDINATION. THROUGH OUR COORDINATION WITH THE CITY OF PLANTATION, WE HAVE EXTENDED THE EASTBOUND AUXILIARY LANE AT SUNRISE BOULEVARD INTERCHANGE, [00:25:01] MAINTAINED THE EXISTING INTERCHANGE AND RECONSTRUCTED THE RAMP BRIDGE. COORDINATION WITH THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL AND INVENTORY ASSOCIATION HAS RESULTED IN A NEW RELIEVER INTERCHANGE AT THE OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD. THIS WOULD RESULT IN LESS CONGESTION ON OUR LOCAL ROADS AND BETTER ACCESS TO ACTUALLY THE FLORIDA MEDICAL CENTER. CYPRESS CREEK ROAD AND MCNAB INTERCHANGE PROVIDES ANOTHER ACCESS POINT TO FORT LAUDERDALE AND HELPS RELIEVE THE COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD CONGESTION. COORDINATION WITH THE CITY OF TAMARACK, WE MODIFIED THE FUTURE DESIGN OF THE INTERCHANGE THAT WILL ACCOMMODATE FOR THE FUTURE CITY PARK. COORDINATION WITH THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH. THIS IS A RENDERING OF THE COCONUT CREEK PARKWAY AND MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR BOULEVARD INTERCHANGE AT THE BLOUNT ROAD INTERSECTION, AND THE RAMP IMPROVEMENTS CREATED WILL PROVIDE A DIRECT ACCESS TO BLOUNT ROAD, WHICH ALL THE FREIGHT TRAFFIC WILL GO DIRECTLY ONTO THE TURNPIKE, WHICH WILL BYPASS DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR BOULEVARD AND WILL REDUCE THE CONGESTION AND IMPROVE SAFETY ALONG THAT BOULEVARD. I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE ON THIS SLIDE THAT THIS IS THE PROJECT FOR DESIGN IN THE TIP. THE NOISE WALL IS PART OF THE EARLY WORKS. WHEN THE INTERCHANGE IS CONSTRUCTED IN THE NOISE WALL WILL BE INCLUDED INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THE WIDENING PROJECTS. WE HAVE A VARIETY OF HEIGHTS WHEN IT COMES TO THE NOISE WALL. THIS WILL BE THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT ALONG THIS INTERCHANGE. THE NEXT COUPLE OF SLIDES IS GOING TO BE OUR MODIFICATIONS AND OUR COORDINATION WITH THE CITY OF COCONUT CREEK. ONE OF WHICH RESULTED IN THE LOOP RAMP BEING MOVED FROM COCONUT CREEK INTERCHANGE. ANOTHER MODIFICATION WAS THE SHIFTING OF THE MAIN LINE EAST FROM WIND MOOR, THAT IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE COCONUT CREEK PARKWAY AND RAMP BRIDGE. WE'VE HEARD FROM THE COMMUNITY. WE UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS AND THAT WE ARE ALSO BUILDING THE NOISE WALLS TO THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT TO BENEFIT SUNSHINE DRIVES RESIDENTS. I'M GOING TO GO A LITTLE OFF SCRIPT ON THIS ONE BECAUSE I DO WANT TO TOUT A LITTLE BIT ABOUT COORDINATION. THE TURNPIKE WAS BUILT IN 1957, THAT'S A LONG TIME AGO, AND WHEN IT WAS BUILT, THERE WAS NOTHING OUT THERE. THEN DEVELOPMENT OF WILLMORE CAME BY THE UNINTENTIONAL CONSEQUENCE IN TRYING TO BE A GOOD PARTNER IS THAT AS THE CARS GO ALONG ON AND OFF THE RAMP, THE BEAMS OF THE LIGHTS WOULD SHINE ONTO THE CONDOS. THAT WAS ONE OF THE UNINTENTIONAL CONSEQUENCES PLUS THE ADDED NOISE. WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE RAMP WAS ON AND OFF OUR FACILITY. BECAUSE OF THIS COORDINATION, AND AS YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE X MARKS ARE, WE HAVE MOVED THE SOUTHBOUND RAMP FURTHER AWAY AND WE HAVE HEARD THE LOCAL CONCERNS ABOUT THE WIDENING PROJECTS. BUT WE DO WANT TO EMPHASIZE IS THE VEGETATION, WHICH IS SO BEAUTIFUL, WHICH IS ON THE RIGHT AWAY OF WILLMORE OF WILLMORE, AND THEN ALONG OUR NOISE WALL WILL BE BUILT ON THE SIDE THAT WON'T AFFECT THE VEGETATION. BY MOVING THE RAMP, WE BELIEVE THIS IS A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO DESIGN WHAT'S BENEFICIAL TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND TO THE COMMUNITY. >> THE FINAL INTERCHANGE WE WILL BE DISCUSSING IS A SAMPLE ROAD INTERCHANGE. THE COMMUNITY FEEDBACK WAS INCORPORATED INTO THE ALTERNATIVE AND WE ARE WORKING ON THE LAND SWAP AT SAMPLE ROAD INTERCHANGE AND TRADE WINDS PARK. WE'VE HEARD THE CONCERNS OF OUR PARTNERS AT COCONUT CREEK. THE PDNE IS COMPLETE, AND WE HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO TAKE A PHASED APPROACH WHEN IT COMES TO CONSTRUCTION. AS YOU CAN SEE ON THIS SLIDE, IT'S EIGHT LANES, PHASE CONSTRUCTION, SOUTH OF ATLANTIC BOULEVARD TO COPEN ROAD, AND ULTIMATELY 10 LANES WHEN WE EXCEED THE LEVEL OF SERVICE D. THAT IS A COMMITMENT THAT WE ARE MAKING AS TURNPIKE. [00:30:04] LET'S TALK ABOUT LEVEL OF SERVICE D. I THINK MOST OF EVERYBODY IN THIS ROOM TO BE ON THIS COMMITTEE UNDERSTANDS WHERE IN TRAFFIC FLOW INCREASES, TRAFFIC SPEED DECREASES AND YOU CAN'T MANEUVER, AND SO WE'VE SHOWN YOU A RENDITION OF, WE WON'T WIDEN UNTIL WE EXCEED LEVEL OF SERVICE D. OUT OF OUR PDNE PROCESS, THESE ARE THE PHASES THAT WE HAVE BROKEN DOWN INTO SEGMENTS. THESE ARE VARIOUS PROJECTS FUNDED FOR DESIGN, AND AS YOU HEARD EARLIER, THESE PHASES ARE REPRESENTED IN THE TAP. WHAT WE DO WANT TO ASSURE YOU IS THAT OUR PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT DOES NOT END IN PDNE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO COORDINATE WITH OUR COMMUNITIES AND CONTINUED ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR STAKEHOLDERS IN PUBLIC MEETINGS, WORK PROGRAM HEARINGS, AND WE WILL CONTINUE THAT COORDINATION. WITH THAT, I WILL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS AND THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH YOU TODAY. >> ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS ON EITHER OF THE PRESENTATIONS? RAS. >> GOOD AFTERNOON. >> GOOD AFTERNOON. >> PRESENTATION, RASA MAAT BROWARD COUNTY TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION. AS FAR AS THE PHASED APPROACH FROM EIGHT LANING TO 10 LANING AS FAR AS THE TRAFFIC NUMBERS, DEMAND, FUTURE PROJECTIONS, IS THERE A TIMELINE WHEN YOU ANTICIPATE THAT WOULD BE NEEDED? DOES THE PHASING MAKE SENSE? >> OUR NUMBERS INDICATE 2045, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A YEAR. >> TO REACH THE NEED FOR 10 LANING? >> RIGHT. > >OKAY. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU. MAQSOOD. >> THANKS FOR YOUR PRESENTATION. IN FACT, THE INTERCHANGE AT OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD, YOU CONTACTED OUR CITY OF LAUDER LAKE. BASICALLY, THOUGH YOU MENTIONED EARLY LAUDER HILL, BUT WE HAD A FEW PRESENTATIONS FROM YOU THAT YOU PRESENTED TO OUR COMMISSION ALSO AT THE STAFF LEVEL. BASICALLY, THE REASON I MENTIONED IT BECAUSE IF YOU DO ANY PUBLIC OUTREACHES DURING CONSTRUCTION IN THE NEXT PHASE, WE SHOULD NOT BE OPTED OUT WE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN. >> WE HAVE NO INTENTIONS. DOT TURNPIKE ONCE YOU'RE IN, YOU'RE IN FOR LIFE, WE DON'T BELIEVE IN WE'RE DONE WITH A PROJECT. I THINK WE ALL KNOW WE WANT TO BE GOOD NEIGHBORS AND GOOD PARTNERS AND SO MORE THAN LIKELY, YOU WILL HEAR TOO MUCH FROM US, AND I THINK THAT WOULD BE YOUR COMMENT BACK TO ME IN THE NEXT COUPLE PRESENTATIONS. >> ONE MORE THING, THE DESIGN COMPLETION DATE YEAR 2029, IS THE COMPLETION OF THE DESIGN. >> WELL, LET ME GO BACK TO DIFFERENT SLIDES SO THAT WE GET AN UNDERSTANDING IN HERE. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE FULL PDNE, WE BROKE IT DOWN INTO DIFFERENT SEGMENTS AND PHASES SO YOU'VE GOT DESIGN IN 25, 26, 27. THERE'S NO CONSTRUCTION WE'RE NOT FUNDED FOR CONSTRUCTION THIS IS ALL JUST DESIGN. >> SO THAT WE COMPLETED BY YEAR 2029. >> FUNDED. YES. >> OKAY. THANK YOU. >> DANIEL. >> NO, SORRY. I'M GOOD. THANK YOU. > YOU'RE GOOD. OKAY. MICHAEL. >> GOOD AFTERNOON. >> GOOD AFTERNOON. >> JUST TO CLARIFY ON ROSAM'S COMMENT, THE PROJECTIONS FOR THE WIDENING AND THE PHASING, YOU'RE ANTICIPATING 2045? >> CORRECT. >> OR LEVEL OF SERVICE D OR LESS? >> EXCEED LEVEL OF SERVICE D. YES. >> I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ABSTAIN ON A VOTE WHEN THE VOTE COMES FORWARD, BUT THE REASON BEING IS THAT THE CITY IS STILL PROCESSING THE PDNE AND FORMALIZING COMMENTS AS IT RELATES TO THAT. OUR NEW CITY MANAGER STILL HAS SOME CONCERNS ON WHAT'S BEING PROPOSED AS IT RELATES TO THE WIDENING ASPECT OF THE TURNPIKE. >> WE COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND. >> BILL. >> CHAIR, I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY THAT YOU CAN ONLY ABSTAIN FROM A VOTE WHEN YOU HAVE A CONFLICT AND THEN YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT THE PAPERWORK YOU WILL HAVE TO VOTE IN THE AFFIRMATIVE OR AGAINST AND ABSTAIN WOULD NOT REALLY BE APPROPRIATE. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU, BILL. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ON THESE TIP PRESENTATIONS? NO, SEEING NONE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. NEXT, I WOULD ASK FOR A MOTION ON RECOMMENDING THE BROWARD MPO, [00:35:04] APPROVE THE DRAFT FISCAL 25 -29 TIP. THE MOTION WAS MADE BY MAQSOOD, SECONDED BY CHRISTOPHER. ANY ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON THE MOTION? SEEING NONE. NOW I WILL CALL FOR A VOTE. MAGGIE. THANK YOU. THE MOTION CARRIES. NEXT ON OUR AGENDA, MY MIKE THING IS GOING ON OF ON OFF. >> SO I KNOW EVERYBODY SEES THAT WE HAVE THESE TOUCH SCREENS. I RAN INTO THE PROBLEM IF YOU TURN IT DOWN SO THAT IT'S TOUCHING THE KEYBOARD THAT'S BEHIND IT. >> THERE'S YOUR KEYBOARD BACK THERE. >> YEAH, FLICKERING ON THE MONITOR JUST MAKE SURE THERE'S A LITTLE AIR GAP BETWEEN THAT KEYBOARD THAT'S STUFFED BACK THERE. >> I WILL SAY FOR THOSE OF US IN THE BACK, THERE IS AN AWFUL GLARE, YOU CAN'T SEE THE PRESENTATION WITH I CAN SEE THE LIGHTS AND THE PLANES GOING OVER MY HEAD MORE THAN I CAN SEE THE PRESENTATION. WITH THE ANGLES. THAT'S WHAT I WAS TRYING TO DO IS FIX IT AND THAT DID NOT WORK. NEXT ITEM. [1. Municipal Capital Projects: www.my-mcps.org] WE HAVE NON ACTION ITEM, THE MUNICIPAL CAPITAL PROJECTS UPDATE, AND MR. BROWER IS HERE TO GIVE US THE UPDATE. THANK YOU. >> WONDERFUL. THANK YOU. THE LAST TIME I MET WITH YOU, WE WENT OVER THE EDUCATION PROGRAM, HOW THE MUNICIPALITIES HAD BEEN ORGANIZED IN ONE ON ONE MEETINGS AND SOME OF THE OTHER EDUCATION THAT WE HAD DONE ONLINE AS WELL AS THE YOUTUBE VIDEO. I'M HERE WITH THE RESULTS. THIS IS ESSENTIALLY THE ENDPOINT FOR US FOR THIS CYCLE OF CYCLE 5. WE'VE COLLECTED THE APPLICATIONS, WE'VE EVALUATED THEM, WE REVIEWED THEM, AND NOW WE'VE RANKED AND RECOMMENDED THEM. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET TODAY. I'M GOING TO START WHERE WE ENDED LAST TIME. I'D LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THIS. THIS IS THE FUNDING AVAILABILITY. IN REQUESTS, WE HAD ALMOST 200 MILLION IN REQUEST, 195.7 MILLION TO BE EXACT. THE AVAILABLE MAG THAT WAS GIVEN TO US BY BROWARD COUNTY SO THE MONEY THAT WE HAD AVAILABLE TO US WAS ROUGHLY IT'S A LITTLE UNDER 30 MILLION WHEN YOU ROUND UP, IT'S 30 MILLION. THAT'S APPROXIMATELY 15% OF THE OVERALL REQUESTS THAT WE COULD MEET. IN THE BEST POSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES, WE ONLY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO FUND 15% OF THE REQUEST. THE RESULTS ARE IN WE HAVE OF THE 56 PROJECTS THAT WERE EVALUATED AND RANKED. YOU SEE THE NICE DISTRIBUTION THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. WE HAD 22 MUNICIPALITIES THAT HAD AN APPLICATION THAT WAS EVALUATED AND RANKED, AND THEN WE WERE RECOMMENDING TWO OF THEM. NOW I WANT TO GET TO HOW DO YOU GO FROM 56 APPLICATIONS TO ONLY TWO RECOMMENDATIONS. ACCORDING TO THE SECOND AMENDMENT, WHICH WE ALL SIGNED THE MPO MUNICIPALITIES, BROWARD COUNTY, PROCESS THAT WE MUST GO THROUGH IS FROM THE MPO PERSPECTIVE IN OUR RANKING RECOMMENDATION, WE CAN NEVER RECOMMEND ABOVE THE MAG AND AGAIN THE MAG IS PROVIDED TO US BY THE MAP ADMINISTRATOR, IT WAS ROUGHLY $30,000,000. THAT'S WHAT WE HAD TO WORK WITH. WHEN WE GO THROUGH OUR RANKING, ALSO, ACCORDING TO THE SECOND AMENDMENT, WE MUST RECOMMEND THEM IN ORDER OF THEIR RANK. YOU SEE THE TOP TWO PROJECTS, ONE AND TWO, AND ONCE WE GOT TO THE THIRD ONE, WE THEN WOULD EXCEED THAT MAG OF ALMOST AT $5,000,000 AT THAT POINT. WE HAVE TO STOP ACCORDING TO THE SECOND AMENDMENT AND NOT RECOMMEND THE THIRD PROJECT BECAUSE ITS REQUEST AMOUNT IS GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT THAT WE WOULD HAVE LEFT AFTER RECOMMENDING THE FIRST TWO PROJECTS. THOSE TWO PROJECTS IN THAT WE WERE ABLE TO RECOMMEND, COCONUT CREEK, FORT LAUDERDALE, BOTH OF THESE PROJECTS ARE FOR CONSTRUCTION. THEY WERE INCLUDED IN THE FIVE YEAR PLAN LAST YEAR FOR DESIGN. ESSENTIALLY THEY'RE MOVING THROUGH THE PROCESS. AGAIN, YOU SEE THEN THE MONEY THAT WE HAVE REMAINING AFTER THOSE TWO PROJECTS. I ALWAYS LIKE TO GIVE A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT DID YOU BUY? WITH THESE TWO PROJECTS, WHAT YOU'RE GETTING IS TWO PROJECTS THAT ARE FULLY FUNDED, MULTIMODAL OPPORTUNITIES. THESE WERE PROJECTS THAT ARE NOT JUST ROADWAY, BUT THEY INCLUDE SIDEWALK, THEY INCLUDE BIKE LANES, AND OTHER MULTIMODAL OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING ADA IMPROVEMENTS. THESE ARE PROJECTS THAT ARE REALLY LOOKING AT THE TRAVELING PUBLIC AND NOT JUST VEHICLES THEMSELVES. 60% OF THAT FUNDING IS WITHIN A PUBLIC SCHOOL ZONE SO WE'RE THINKING ABOUT THE CHILDREN, AS WELL AS THOSE ROADWAYS, 100% OF THEM, BOTH PROJECTS WERE WITHIN THE FMA HIGH RISK FLOODING. NOW IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THE PROJECT IS GOING TO ADDRESS THAT FUNDING, BUT IT IS SOMETHING THAT THEY LOOK AT ONCE THEY START GOING INTO THE DESIGN PROCESS. WE ALWAYS AT LEAST IDENTIFY THE ONES THAT ARE AT HIGH RISK. [00:40:03] ESSENTIALLY, THAT IS THE RESULT OF THIS YEAR'S CYCLE FIVE. ANY QUESTIONS? >> THANK YOU, TODD. ANY QUESTIONS OR THOUGHT ABOUT THE MCP? >> NO. >> EXCELLENT. THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU. >> NEXT, WE'LL MOVE ON TO OUR NEXT PRESENTATION ON FEDERAL DISCRETIONARY GRANTS. [2. Federal Discretionary Grants] MISS TUSI IS HERE THERE SHE IS BEHIND THE PILLAR. THANK YOU. >> JUST KEEPING YOU GUYS ON YOUR TOES. MADAM CHAIR, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. HI EVERYBODY. ANY QUESTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS FROM YOU GUYS? >> THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK UPDATE. ANY QUESTIONS? ANY OF THE GRANTS CURRENT OR COMING UP? NO. SEEING NO. THANK YOU, JENNIFER. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> OUR NEXT PRESENTATION TODAY IS A REPORT FROM PARTNER AGENCIES, [3. Report from Partner Agency - Greater Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association - Commute Broward] GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION. >> ROBYN'S HERE TODAY TO TALK ABOUT COMMUTE BROWARD. >> GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE. I HOPE WE ALL STAYED DRY ON THE WAY HERE. >> JUST SQUEEZED IN BETWEEN, I THINK. YEAH. >> I WORE MY CROCKS TODAY TO DEAL WITH THE RAIN. AGAIN, ROBYN CHIARELLI, I AM WITH COMMUTE BROWARD, AND I'M EXCITED TO SHARE AN UPDATE TODAY ABOUT COMMUTE BROWARD AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUMMARIZE LAST YEAR'S SUCCESSES AND TALK ABOUT WHAT'S TO COME. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH COMMUTE BROWARD, IT'S A TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, ADD THAT TO YOUR TLC DICTIONARY, THREE LETTER ACRONYM, THAT DELIVERS EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT SERVICES TO DRIVE BEHAVIOR CHANGE AND REDUCE THE DEMAND OF THE LIMITED CAPACITY THAT WE HAVE ON OUR ROADWAYS. IT IS SUPPORTED BY THE BROWARD MPO, THANK YOU, BY FDOT, THANKS DOT, [00:45:04] AND OPERATED BY THE GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF WHICH I AM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND HAVE BEEN FOR 10 YEARS IN JULY. EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR PRESENTATION AND WHAT YOU WILL HEAR TODAY. FIRSTLY, YOU WILL GET A REFRESHER ON OUR MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT IF YOU'RE NOT ALREADY AWARE. YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT THE INITIAL PROGRAM SUCCESSES. YOU'LL HEAR ABOUT UPCOMING PLANS FOR THIS COMING FISCAL YEAR. YOU'LL UNDERSTAND THE DELIVERABLES AND PERFORMANCE METRICS THAT WE WILL USE TO TRACK AND MONITOR OUR PROGRESS, AND THEN FINALLY AN OPPORTUNITY FOR QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS. IF YOU FORGET EVERYTHING THAT I SAID TO YOU THIS AFTERNOON, YOU CAN REMEMBER ONE THING, WWW.COMMUTEBROWARD.ORG. I'M A WALKING COMMERCIAL. REMEMBER TO GO AND VISIT OUR WEBSITE. I ALSO HAVE FLYERS FOR YOU TO TAKE HOME AND CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE. FIRSTLY, ON OUR MISSION AND VISION. OUR MISSION IS TO OPTIMIZE GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE'S TRANSPORTATION NETWORK WITH EMPHASIS ON THE WORD OPTIMIZE. WE'RE NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF SUPPLY. WE'RE NOT BUILDING ROADS, WE'RE NOT OPERATING TRANSIT. ON THE OTHER HAND, WE'RE IN THE BUSINESS OF DEMAND. WE'RE FOCUSED ON BEHAVIOR CHANGE TO GET COMMUTERS OUT OF THEIR SINGLE OCCUPANCY VEHICLES BY CREATING COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIES WITH OUR TRANSPORTATION PARTNERS, WITH GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES, AS WELL AS KEY LARGE EMPLOYERS TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC GROWTH AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE. OUR VISION IS TO ADVANCE AN EFFICIENT COMMUTE FOR ALL IN GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE. THE COMMUTE BROWARD PROGRAM IS A FLEDGELING PROGRAM. ITS GENESIS AROSE FROM A TRANSPORTATIONS DEMAND MANAGEMENT STUDY THAT WAS COMPLETED IN LATE 2022. AS PART OF THAT STUDY, IT RECOMMENDED THAT A TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM BE INSTALLED IN BROWARD TO AUGMENT AND EMPHASIZE THE ALREADY GREAT PROGRAM THAT IS OPERATED BY SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUTER SERVICES. BUT INSTEAD OF ON THE REGIONAL LEVEL, ON A LOCAL LEVEL. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY NOT BE AWARE OF SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUTER SERVICES, IT OPERATES AMONGST A SEVEN-COUNTY REGION FROM THE TREASURE COAST IN THE NORTH TO KEY WEST IN THE SOUTH THAT COVERS 7 MILLION RESIDENTS AND OVER 8,500 SQUARE MILES. THE TDM STUDY RECOMMENDED AND RECOGNIZED THAT BROWARD, WITH ITS 2 MILLION RESIDENTS NEEDED ADDITIONAL PEOPLE POWER TO ENCOURAGE A MODE SHIFT FROM SINGLE OCCUPANCY VEHICLES. WHAT CAME OUT OF THAT TDM STUDY WAS AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, PART OF THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN RECOMMENDED THAT WE CREATE A MARKETING PLAN. THAT WAS ONE OF OUR FIRST SUCCESSES, WAS A MARKETING PLAN THAT WAS CREATED AND ESTABLISHED. THAT FOCUSED ON KEY PARTNERSHIPS AND CROSS PROMOTION WITH PEER TRANSPORTATION PROVIDERS, WORKING WITH SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS TO MARKET COMMUTE BROWARD, ENGAGING WITH KEY EMPLOYERS, COMMUNITY OUTREACH, AND THEN FINALLY, TRADE SHOW MATERIALS, WHICH YOU SEE RIGHT HERE. ANOTHER INITIAL PROGRAM SUCCESS, OF COURSE, WAS OUR WEBSITE, COMMUTEBROWARD.ORG, AS WELL AS OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS. ALSO, WE CREATED A FUNDING TASK FORCE AND DRAFTED A FUNDING STRATEGY. I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT LATER. THEN FINALLY, EMPLOYER AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. PICTURES SAY 1,000 WORDS. FIRSTLY, IF YOU DIDN'T SEE IT, OUR TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT STUDY THAT I REFERENCED EARLIER, I'M HAPPY TO PROVIDE A LINK. I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO READ ALL 437 PAGES. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING FOR EMPHASIS. IT IS 437 PAGES. BUT IT'S CHALK FULL OF REALLY USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO HERE IN BROWARD TO IMPROVE THE COMMUTE. WE ALSO CREATED THE WEBSITE COMMUTEBROWARD.ORG. IT IS A ONE-STOP SHOP THAT SHOWCASES ALL TRANSPORTATION, OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUTERS IN BROWARD. IT INCLUDES INFORMATION ON BROWARD COUNTY TRANSIT, TRI RAIL, BRIGHTLINE, SOUTH FLORIDA, COMMUTER SERVICES CIRCUIT FREE THIS CYCLE, AND THEN ALSO EMPHASIZES WALKING AS A HEALTHY HABIT. THEN FINALLY, THE PRINCETON MATERIALS THAT I SHARE WITH YOU TODAY. [00:50:02] ALSO SOME OF THE OUTREACH EVENTS THAT WE TOOK PART IN, [INAUDIBLE], TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT DAY, MPOS, LET'S GO BIKING EVENTS, AS WELL AS SOUTH FLORIDA BUSINESS JOURNALS, BEST PLACES TO WORK, AND BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARDS. I NOTICED CAROL'S NOT WEARING A FROG HAT IN THIS ONE, SO WE'LL HAVE TO GIVE HER A HARD TIME ABOUT THAT LATER. ALSO WE RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN SEMINOLE HARD ROCK HOTEL ON CASINOS EARTH DAY, AS WELL AS I CO-MCED WITH JEREMY MULLINGS FROM COMMUTER SERVICES, THE TRANSPORTATION COMMUTER SUMMIT, WHICH HAD A RECORD 120 GUESTS FROM ALL OVER THE STATE OF FLORIDA AS WELL AS OUTSIDE OF FLORIDA. NOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR. I JUST WANT TO MAKE A NOTE. IT SAYS DECEMBER 2024. IT SHOULD SAY JUNE 2025, MY APOLOGIES. WE ARE GOING TO BE CONTINUING THE GREAT WORK THAT'S ALREADY BEEN STARTED, CENTERED ON EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT SERVICES THAT DRIVE BEHAVIOR CHANGE AND HELP COMMUTERS GET OUT OF THEIR SINGLE OCCUPANCY VEHICLES AND HAVE HAPPY COMMUTERS HERE IN BROWARD. THE STRATEGIES INCLUDE GENERAL MANAGEMENT SUCH AS MAINTAINING OUR WEBSITE, COMMUTEBROWARD.ORG, AS WELL AS OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS, CONTINUING WITH SUPERB COMMUNITY OUTREACH, PARTNERING WITH KEY EMPLOYERS, AS WELL AS MAKING PARTNERSHIPS WITH THOSE EMPLOYERS TO GAIN AMBASSADORS. WE CALL THEM EMPLOYEE TRANSPORTATION COORDINATORS. ADD THAT TO YOUR TLC, ETCS, EMPLOYEE TRANSPORTATION COORDINATORS, AND THOSE ARE AMBASSADORS THAT ARE HELPING TO CARRY THE COMMUTE BROWARD MESSAGE TO THEIR EMPLOYEES. THEN ALSO FUNDING RESEARCH AND PURSUIT, THANK YOU, BROWARD MPO AND FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SUPPORTING TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT. IT'S VERY MUCH APPRECIATED AND NEEDED. WE NEED MORE TDM, AND TO DO THAT, WE NEED MORE MONEY. THE FOCUS OF THIS WILL BE TO DRAW UPON MORE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS TO EXPAND OUR PROGRAM FURTHER. THEN FINALLY, WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT BROWARD MPO WITH THEIR STATE OF THE REGION ANNUAL AWARDS AS FISCAL AGENT. A LITTLE BIT ON THE DELIVERABLES, OF COURSE WE'LL CONTINUE TO UPDATE OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA AS CURRENT CONDITIONS EVOLVE. WE WILL ADD TO OUR WEBSITE WITH THE PERFORMANCE METRICS DASHBOARD. WE SEEK TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ON THE CUMULATIVE BROWARD EFFECT AMONGST ALL OF OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICE PROVIDERS AND PROMOTE ALL OF THE CARBON EMISSIONS AVOIDED, VEHICLE MILES TRAVELED REDUCED, AS WELL AS MONEY SAVED BY COMMUTERS. WE'LL BE FEATURING THAT ON OUR WEBSITE THIS YEAR. ALSO TRANSPORTATION EVENTS WITH OUR PARTNERS, AND UPDATED MARKETING PLAN AND FUNDING STRATEGY TO REFLECT CURRENT CONDITIONS. NEW THIS YEAR, A TDM FRAMEWORK FOR MUNICIPALITIES. I THINK THERE ARE SOME MUNICIPALITIES IN THE ROOM, I'M NOT SURE, BUT THIS WILL BE HELPFUL FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS AS WELL AS YOUR EMPLOYEES THEMSELVES. THEN OF COURSE, PERFORMANCE METRICS. WE ALWAYS WANT TO TRACK PERFORMANCE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE GETTING THE BANG FOR THE BUCK AND MAKING AN IMPACT. WE'LL BE TRACKING HOW MANY PEOPLE WE'VE TOUCHED, WHETHER IT'S THROUGH OUR WEBSITE, COMMUTEBROWARD.ORG OR OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS, EVENTS THAT WE HOLD, WORKSHOPS THAT FOLKS ATTEND, NUMBER OF EMPLOYEE TRANSPORTATION COORDINATORS THAT WE ENGAGE WITH, SURVEY RATINGS, AND THEN THIS IS WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD. BEHAVIOR CHANGE VIA A MODE SPLIT SURVEY, WHICH BASICALLY ASKS, HOW DO YOU COMMUTE, HOW WILL YOU COMMUTE IN THE FUTURE? THAT'S REALLY THE BOTTOM LINE OF THE PERFORMANCE METRIC THAT WE WANT TO GET TO. WITH THAT, I'LL OPEN IT FOR COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS. >> THANK YOU, ROBYN. COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, NATALIE? >> HI [INAUDIBLE] AND ROBYN. THANK YOU FOR THAT PRESENTATION. ON THE LAST SLIDE, THE VERY END ON YOUR PERFORMANCE METRICS IS THAT SURVEY. IS THAT SOMETHING THAT IS AT THE END OF THIS PERIOD IN 2025 THAT YOU'LL BE IMPLEMENTING? >> CORRECT. >> OKAY. >> YES. >> I DO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A TRI RAIL SURVEY AND COMMUTER SERVICES HAS THEIR OWN SURVEY AND [OVERLAPPING]. PEOPLE TEND TO GET SURVEYED OUT SO WE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE COORDINATING WITH OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICE PROVIDERS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE USE OUR TIME WISELY WHEN IT COMES TO ASKING MORE QUESTIONS TO OUR PUBLIC. >> OKAY. I WANTED TO ALSO MENTION THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING OUR TTP MAJOR UPDATE, [00:55:07] AND PART OF THAT WE DO MORE SURVEYING. INTERCEPT SURVEYS ON THE PLATFORM, SPEAKING TO OUR PASSENGERS. THOSE QUESTIONS ARE USUALLY GEARED TOWARDS MORE, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE, HOW WILL YOU BE RIDING IN THE FUTURE? THOSE TYPES OF QUESTIONS. IF THERE'S SOMETHING THAT COULD BE MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL, PLEASE REACH OUT. JESSICA VARGAS IS THE PROJECT MANAGER FOR THAT ON OUR STAFF. BUT I JUST THINK THAT MAYBE SOME OF THE DATA THAT'S GATHERED MIGHT ALSO BE HELPFUL FOR YOU. >> WONDERFUL. THANK YOU. >> EXCELLENT. THANK YOU. ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS FOR ROBYN? NO. I APPRECIATE THE UPDATE. I WILL SECOND NATALIE'S COMMENT. IT'S NICE TO SEE. WE SAW WHAT YOU HOPED TO DO, AND TO SEE THE UPDATES IS GREAT TO LET US KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.
