SO MANAGING THE STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS, THE PROJECTS THAT YOU SEE HERE ARE BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS THAT ARE ADMINISTERED PROJECTS THAT WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE. THESE PROJECTS DERIVE FROM A FDOT CENTRAL OFFICE LIST OF PRIORITY PRIORITIZED DEFICIENT BRIDGES. THAT WAS FOR THE AREA.
SO THAT'S HOW THE, THE BRIDGES RECEIVED THE FUNDING.
AND THE FUNDING THAT WAS RECEIVED IS FEDERAL IS SPLIT BETWEEN FEDERAL AND LOCAL SHARE.
THE LOCALS ARE REQUIRED TO MATCH THAT WITH 25% COST FOR THE TOTAL PROJECT.
WE ARE PROPOSING FOR IN THIS TIP AMENDMENT TO REMOVE THE RIGHT OF WAY PHASES AS DURING PHASE ONE OF THE PROJECT AND DESIGN.

HAVE THEY DONE THE APPROPRIATE BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR THE LEVEL OF THE, THE ROADWAY WHEN THEY FINISH? AND, AND ALONG WITH THAT IS ANOTHER QUESTION.

OUR METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLANS THAT WE DEVELOP EVERY FIVE YEARS ARE THOSE CHECKPOINTS ALONG THE WAY TO THE 2100, SO THAT WE MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE MAKING INVESTMENTS THAT ACCOMPLISH THOSE VISIONS OR THOSE GOALS.

THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN MOVING INTO SOUTH FLORIDA. SO WE HAVE A POTENTIAL, A LOT MORE FRIENDS COMING DOWN HERE EXPECTED TO HAVE ABOUT 330,000 MORE PEOPLE BY THE YEAR 2050, WHICH REQUIRES MORE HOUSING.
AND IF THERE'S MORE HOUSING, IT REQUIRES MORE.
IT WILL HAVE MORE STRAIN ON OUR TRANSPORTATION NETWORK RESILIENCY.
YOU ALL KNOW IT'S NOTHING NEW.
WE'VE LIVED THROUGH SOME FLOODS THIS PAST COUPLE OF YEARS.
AND SO WITH WITH THE THREAT OF FLOODING AND ALSO WITH SEA LEVEL RISE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS ARE A MAIN CHALLENGE THAT WE ARE FACING WITH THIS PLAN.
AND THEN AS TECHNOLOGY ADVANCES, WE DON'T WANT TO GET LEFT BEHIND WITH ANY KIND OF TECHNOLOGY ADVANCE. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE INVESTING, WHETHER THERE ARE FEASIBILITY STUDIES OR ACTUAL ACTIONABLE PROJECTS LIKE EV CHARGING STATIONS INTO OUR TRANSPORTATION NETWORK SO THAT WE'RE EVOLVING WITH THE TIMES.
SOMETHING YOU'RE ALSO GOING TO SEE WITHIN THIS CHAPTER IS SOME OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE HAVE WITHIN OUR PROGRAMS. AND THEN ALSO WITH OUR PROCESS, YOU'LL SEE THE CHAPTER DIVIDED INTO TWO SEPARATE SECTIONS HERE, ONE THAT OUTLINES OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN EACH OF OUR PROGRAMS. WE'VE ESTABLISHED A TOOL THAT HELPS US EVALUATE ALL THE PROJECTS THAT WE COLLECTED THROUGH OUR NEEDS ASSESSMENT, WHERE WE CAN RANK AND SCORE THEM AND SET THEM UP WITH THEIR BEST CHANCE TO GO AFTER GRANTS SO THAT WE CAN SEEK ADDITIONAL FUNDING AND BRING IT DOWN HERE TO BROWARD. SO THOSE ARE JUST A COUPLE THINGS.
WE ALSO HAVE OUR ROUTE MARKERS.
THESE ARE OUR ROUTE MARKERS THAT ARE IDENTIFYING CHALLENGES FOR EVERY SINGLE PROJECT THAT'S IN THE PLAN.

HAVING A ROUTE MARKER LIKE A BICYCLE SUITABILITY HERE WILL HELP US OR WHOEVER IS ADMINISTERING THE PROJECT.
PUT IN INTERVENTIONS THAT HELP BICYCLISTS RIDE THEIR BIKES MORE SAFELY.
CHAPTER FIVE IS PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT.

THE INCORPORATION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 THROUGH 29 TIP PROJECTS, AND THEN ALSO THEIR FUTURE YEAR COSTS THAT WEREN'T ACCOUNTED FOR BEFORE.
SO IN OUR TIP, THERE MIGHT BE SOME PROJECTS THAT HAVE DESIGN FUNDED, BUT THEY'RE MISSING SOME CONSTRUCTION. WE BROUGHT IN THAT THOSE THOSE FUTURE CONSTRUCTION YEARS INTO THE PLAN. SO IT'S BEEN TAKEN A LITTLE BIT MORE OF THAT PIE AWAY FOR NEW PROJECTS.

5 BILLION WOULD GO TO THE STATES FOR THE NAVY PROGRAM, AND THEN 2.5 BILLION IS AVAILABLE FOR CORRIDOR AND COMMUNITY GRANTS FROM THE NAVY PROGRAM. THE STATE OF FLORIDA IS EXPECTED TO GET AROUND $198 MILLION.
ACROSS THE STATE, THEY'RE REALLY FOCUSED ON RURAL INVESTMENT, AND THEY CONSIDER BROWARD COUNTY BUILT OUT BECAUSE WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE HERE IN OUR AREA.

BROWARD COUNTY HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST ADOPTION RATES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES.
FLORIDA IS SECOND TO CALIFORNIA IN THE COUNTRY FOR EV ADOPTION, AND OUR AREA IS THE HIGHEST WITHIN FLORIDA, IF YOU CONSIDER ALL THREE COUNTIES.
THIS IS DATA THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET FROM THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLES DEPARTMENT, BASED ON ZIP CODE OWNERSHIP OF EVS HERE IN THE COUNTY, YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF EV OWNERSHIP IS OUT WEST, AND A LOT OF OUR INFRASTRUCTURE IS ALONG 95 AND THE TURNPIKE.

SO OUR CHARGING AND FUELING INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT APPLICATION.
LOOKED AT KIND OF TWO DIFFERENT WAYS TO GO ABOUT THE FUNDING.
