STAFF OFFERED UPDATES AT NUMEROUS OVERSIGHT BOARD MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS.
TOPICS INCLUDED EVERYTHING FROM PROGRAM UPDATES TO SURTAX BUDGET REQUESTS.
BCT'S FIVE YEAR PLAN. THAT COORDINATION ENSURES THAT THE AGENCY VISION ISN'T JUST ASPIRATIONAL, IT'S ACTIONABLE. IT'S FUNDED, IT'S ACCOUNTABLE.

PUBLIC MEETINGS, STAKEHOLDER LISTENING SESSIONS, POP UP EVENTS AT TRANSIT LOCATIONS, BCT GATHERED VALUABLE FEEDBACK THAT WILL HELP MODERNIZE THE SYSTEM, IMPROVE EFFICIENCY, AND BOOST RIDERSHIP.IN THE NEXT FEW SLIDES, WE'RE GOING TO GO OVER THE 2024 GOALS.
BCT'S GOAL TO DECREASE SAFETY EVENTS MADE SIGNIFICANT STRIDES, BUT IT IS STILL ONGOING.
ONE HUGE STEP WAS THE PROCUREMENT OF PEDESTRIAN COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS. THESE ARE THE SAFETY FEATURES THAT ARE INSTALLED ON BUSSES, AND THEY USE SENSORS AND CAMERAS AND AI TO DETECT PEDESTRIANS AND ALERT BUS DRIVERS TO AVOID COLLISIONS. IT ALSO ALIGNS WITH THE NATIONAL VISION ZERO PRINCIPLES FOR TRANSIT SAFETY.
TO THE CENTER AND TO THE RIGHT, YOU'LL SEE BCT'S MISSION TO REDUCE ASSAULTS ON TRANSIT WORKERS, AND THAT'S STILL IN PROGRESS. THE AGENCY INCREASED ITS EFFORTS TO DISCUSS AND DEFINE AND TRACK WORKER ASSAULTS VERBALLY AND PHYSICALLY.

CUSTOMER SERVICE OUTREACH TRIPLED THE MINIMUM TARGET WITH 46 EVENTS HELD.
RIDERSHIP INCREASED ALMOST 9% SYSTEMWIDE ACROSS ALL SERVICES, INCLUDING PARATRANSIT OR TOPS, WHICH HIT A HISTORIC HIGH WITH 15% GROWTH. AND THESE NUMBERS REFLECT NOT JUST OPERATIONAL SUCCESS, BUT COMMUNITY IMPACT. THE THIRD GOAL ILLUSTRATES BCT'S COMMITMENT TO ITS STAFF AND GROWTH.
HOWEVER, THE EMPLOYEE SURVEY WAS POSTPONED. IT WAS PUT ON HOLD UNTIL BCT 2.0 CAN BE IMPLEMENTED, AND THAT'S THE PROGRAM TO MODERNIZE THE EXISTING STRUCTURE FOR PREMO SERVICES.
INSTEAD OF CONTINUING WITH THE SURVEY, WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN SKEWED BY THE RESTRUCTURING, THE AGENCY DECIDED INSTEAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEW STRUCTURE HAD TIME TO STABILIZE, AND THIS WAY THE FEEDBACK IS A RESULT OF THE ACTUAL WORKING CONDITIONS, AND NOT THE KIND OF GROWING PAINS FROM THE MOVING PIECES.
AND AFTER MEETING THE GOAL, BCT PAUSED EV FLEET EXPANSION DUE TO VEHICLE RELIABILITY ISSUES.
IN THE RIGHT COLUMN. EFFORTS TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ARE STILL ONGOING.

THE PROGRAM DOES SHOW BCTS LONG TERM VISION AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

AND YOU CAN SEE IN THE BLUE BOX THE PROJECTED OPERATING EXPENSES TOTAL 3.43 BILLION OVER THE NEXT TEN YEARS TO MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE SERVICES.A TOTAL OF 5.19 BILLION HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN CAPITAL INVESTMENTS TO SUPPORT SERVICE EXPANSION.
SO THAT'S OVER 2.5 BILLION FOR NEW TRANSITWAYS.
745 MILLION FOR NEW VEHICLES. AND THE SPIKE THAT YOU SEE IN 2026 IS THE INVESTMENT FOR BRT AND LRT TO BEGIN SERVICE. THESE INVESTMENTS ARE SUPPORTED BY TRANSPORTATION SURTAX REVENUE, FEDERAL GRANTS, LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS AND ENSURE SUSTAINABLE FUNDING APPROACH.
AND FINALLY, HERE IS A LIST OF PROJECTS AND THEIR ANTICIPATED START DATES BY 2034 BCT EXPECTS NEW SERVICES ACROSS SAMPLE ROAD, HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD, OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD AND MORE.
