THERE'S A LIST OF UNFUNDED PROJECTS THAT ARE RELATED TO THE TURNPIKE AND SOME OF THE DESCRIPTIONS WHEN YOU GO INTO THE TABLE LISTED ON PAGE 71, DON'T APPEAR TO BE REPRESENTATIVE OF WHAT THE CITY'S NEGOTIATED WITH THE TURNPIKE.

SO THERE'S ONLY ONE SECTION. AND I CAN GO THROUGH THE PROJECT NUMBERS THAT LIST THE WIDENING FROM 6 LANES TO 8 LANES. AND FOR MY COLLEAGUES, WHAT WAS DISCUSSED WITH THE TURNPIKE WAS FROM ATLANTIC

BUT AT THIS POINT, IT'S JUST TOO EARLY TO KNOW.

WE, IF ANYBODY COULD PREDICT WHAT CONGRESS WAS GOING TO DO, THEY'D PROBABLY MAKE A, IF I COULD DO THAT, I'D BE EARNING A LOT OF MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

BUT IT'S AT THE VERY LEAST, IT'S A GOOD SIGN THAT IT'S NOT SO DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT, THAT IT'S NOT A COMPLETE FLIP ON WHAT IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED, AND AT THE VERY LEAST FOR THE MPO, BECAUSE THE LAST BILL WAS ESSENTIALLY A PLUS PLUS AS FAR AS OUR FUNDING WENT, THE FACT THAT IT STAYED LEVEL IS STILL A WIN.

SO I JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERYBODY, FDOT HAS A POLICY OF 60 DAYS IN ORDER TO GENERATE A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR YOUR PROJECT, WHICH MEANS IF YOU WAIT FOR ONE OF THESE GRANTS TO DROP, IT'S ALREADY TOO LATE.

AND FDOT IS NOT GOING TO GET YOU A LETTER WHICH DID HAPPEN ON THIS SS FOR A CYCLE TO, TO SOME OF THE APPLICANTS.

EVERYBODY IS BEING, YOU KNOW, TRYING TO TAKE ACTION WITH THESE THEY'RE UPDATING THEIR ORDINANCES TO BETTER ALIGN WITH THE FLORIDA STATUTE THERE, BUT THERE'S STILL LACKING OF CERTAIN CONSISTENCIES WHERE ONE, A PERSON COULD BE TRAVERSING FROM ONE CITY TO ANOTHER AND BE BREAKING THE LAW WITHOUT KNOWING, KNOWING IT. AND ALSO GOING BACK TO THE MOTORIZED SCOOTER, IF WE'RE QUICKLY LOOKING AT THIS HOW AND ARE UNABLE TO REALLY TELL WHAT WHICH ONE IS WHICH.

WE'RE ALSO RELYING ON THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS AND ASKING IT OF OUR POLICE OFFICERS AND OTHERS TO BE OBSERVING AND BEING, OH, WHAT IS THAT? AND TAKING PROPER ACTION. I KNOW THEY'RE TRYING TO WORK FORWARD WITH IT.

ADDITIONALLY WITH INFRASTRUCTURE. WHERE DO THESE VEHICLES OPERATE? WHAT DO WE WHAT IS SAFEST FOR ALL USERS? AND LACK OF MAINTENANCE CAN CREATE SAFETY ISSUES.

THESE VEHICLES HAVE SMALLER WHEELS THAN A LOT OF THINGS THEY LIKE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE SCOOTERS.

THEY CAN HIT A CRACK AND THEY'RE GOING DOWN FASTER THAN A BICYCLE MIGHT.

SO WE HAVE A LOT OF CONCERNS OVERALL. BUT AS I SAID, A LOT, A LOT OF

PLACES ARE TAKING ACTION. BUT WHAT'S DOWN THE ROAD. SO IT SEEMS NOT ONLY HAS THIS BEEN AN INFLUX IN OUR COUNTY AND MUNICIPALITIES THE STATE AND NATIONWIDE WITH MICROMOBILITY. THE STATE IS EVERYBODY'S IS BEING, IS TAKING ACTION WITH IT.

SB 382 HAS, IS SITTING ON THE GOVERNOR'S DESK TO BE SIGNED, WHICH IS GOING TO BE ADDRESSING REGULATIONS AND RULES OF HOW TO RIDE ON SIDEWALKS AND PATHWAYS WITH MICROMOBILITY DEVICES, ELECTRIC BICYCLES SPECIFICALLY.

IT IS ALSO GOING TO BE A SHOULD BE ESTABLISHING THE MICROMOBILITY DEVICE SAFETY TASK FORCE, WHICH WILL BE LOOKING AT A LOT OF DATA TO THEN ALSO ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHAT SHOULD WE DO AND HOW CAN WE BETTER ENFORCE THESE RULES AND CREATE BETTER REGULATIONS WITH THEM LOCALLY? AS I SAID, THEY'RE MAKING CHANGES. I KNOW THAT ALREADY, TRYING TO KEEP UP AND UPDATE MY FUN FILE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THEM.

SO I THINK THE WAY MPO STARTS IS BY FACILITATING THE CONVERSATIONS AND THEN ACTIONS THROUGH THIS TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND THEN BRINGING IT UP THROUGH THE MPO BOARD AND POSSIBLY FURTHER ON WITH THE CITY MANAGER ASSOCIATION.

OKAY. SO TO TO BRING THE UNIFORMITY, WELL, AT LEAST LET'S START THE DISCUSSION BECAUSE WE'VE SEEN THAT THERE'S A LOT MORE UNKNOWNS OR A LOT MORE VARIABLES ABOUT THE MICROMOBILITY THAN DOES IT JUST GO VROOM, VROOM AND PLUG INTO THE WALL.

THE OTHER THING IS THAT THERE'S A TENDENCY TO OUTRIGHT BAN CERTAIN THINGS, WHEN IN REALITY, WE'RE OBLIGATED TO REALLY LOOK AT THE DATA AND MAKE DATA INFORMED DECISIONS IN ORDER TO REALLY FURTHER MULTI A MULTIMODAL ATMOSPHERE.
