WE JUST WANTED TO INFORM YOU ABOUT THE UPCOMING FLORIDA COMMUTER TRANSPORTATION SUMMIT, WHICH IS GOING TO BE HOSTED ON MAY 20TH THROUGH THE 22ND AT THE HISTORIC RIVERSIDE HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN FORT LAUDERDALE, ALONGSIDE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.

SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUTER SERVICES WILL BE HOSTING THIS EVENT, AS WELL AS THE CENTER FOR URBAN TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH AND COMMUTE BROWARD.

IT IS A TDM FOCUSED CONFERENCE ALL ABOUT ALLEVIATING STRATEGIES FOR ALTERNATE TRANSIT USES SUCH AS CARPOOLING, VANPOOLING, BIKING, WALKING, AND OTHER MEANS TO GET AROUND THE VARIOUS AREAS.

SO I HAVE SOME FLIERS HERE FOR THOSE MEMBERS IN PERSON WHO WANT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT IT, AND WE CAN CERTAINLY FOLLOW UP WITH THE COMMITTEE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUMMIT. BUT WE JUST WANT TO INVITE ALL OF YOU TO GO AND BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS TDM CONVERSATION.

I'M ONE OF THE CO PROJECT MANAGERS FOR ROUTE TO 2050, ALSO KNOWN AS OUR 2050 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN.

AND BEFORE I GET STARTED, I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU ALL TO ALL OF THE ENGAGEMENT THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED THIS PAST TWO WEEKS.

YOU GUYS HAVE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK REVIEWING THE ATTACHMENTS, THE PRESENTATIONS, THE DRAFT LIST OF PROJECTS.

AND I'M VERY HAPPY THAT YOU GUYS ARE ENGAGING WITH THOSE PROJECTS AND ASKING REALLY GOOD QUESTIONS ABOUT THEM.

SO WHAT I'M GOING TO DO WITH THIS PRESENTATION IS WALK YOU THROUGH THE STEPS OF HOW WE GOT TO THIS LIST.

BUT BEFORE I DO THAT, I WANT TO SAY OR GIVE A CAVEAT THAT THIS IS NOT OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN.

THIS IS JUST THE DRAFT LIST OF PRIORITIZED PROJECTS.

SO, EVERYTHING THAT WE RECEIVED THROUGH OUR CALL FOR PROJECTS EFFORT THAT WE KICKED OFF AT THE BEGINNING OF LAST YEAR, WE'VE TAKEN ALL THOSE PROJECTS, GONE THROUGH OUR PRIORITIZATION PROCESS, ASSIGNED POINTS TO THOSE PROJECTS, AND WHAT YOU SEE IN THAT PDF THAT WAS A PART OF YOUR AGENDA ITEM IS HOW ALL OF THOSE PROJECTS HAVE RANKED UP AGAINST EACH OTHER. SO, THERE ARE NO FUNDING THRESHOLDS APPLIED TO THE PROJECTS, AND THERE ARE NO FUNDS ATTACHED TO ANY OF THOSE PROJECTS.

THE TOTAL COST ESTIMATES THAT YOU SEE WERE COST ESTIMATES THAT WERE DEVELOPED EITHER BY YOURSELVES THROUGH THE CALL FOR PROJECTS EFFORT OR THROUGH OUR CONSULTANT RESOURCES, WHERE WE DEVELOPED THOSE COST ESTIMATES.

SO THAT'S WHAT YOU'LL SEE IN THE IN THE LIST.

SO LET'S GET STARTED.

SO, OUR PRIORITIZATION PROCESS LIKE I JUST SAID, IT STARTED OFF WITH OUR CALL FOR PROJECTS EARLIER IN 2023.

ONCE WE RECEIVED ALL OF THOSE PROJECTS, OUR FIRST STEP WAS TO NOT ONLY SCRUB THE PROJECTS AND MAKING SURE THAT WE HAVE THE GOOD PROJECT INFORMATION BUT ASSIGN PROGRAMS TO ASSIGN THOSE PROJECTS TO EACH ONE OF THOSE PROGRAMS THAT WE HAVE SHOWN YOU IN PREVIOUS PRESENTATIONS.

SO, WE HAVE SIX PROGRAMS, AND WE PUT ALL OF THOSE PROJECTS INTO ONE OF THOSE SIX.

AFTER WE PUT THOSE INTO THOSE PROGRAMS, WE THEN DID A WONDERFUL WORKSHOP WITH ALL OF Y'ALL WHERE WE LOOKED AT PRIORITIZATION FACTORS, ASSIGN CRITERIA TO THOSE FACTORS, AND ASSIGN POINTS TO THOSE CRITERIA SO THAT WE CAN START RANKING THOSE PROJECTS.

ONCE WE HAVE ALL THOSE PROJECTS RANKED, WE THEN GET TO PRODUCE OUR LIST OF PROJECTS, AND WE'LL GO INTO MORE DETAILS TO SHOW YOU WHAT ALL OF THAT TURNS OUT TO LOOK LIKE.

SO, OUR CALL FOR PROJECTS THIS SLIDE SHOWS WHERE ALL OF THE PROJECTS ORIGINATED FROM AND HOW WE FILTERED OUT SOME OF THOSE PROJECTS.

SO, LET'S START WITH WHERE THE PROJECTS CAME FROM.

FIRST, THEY CAME FROM OUR CALL FOR PROJECTS EFFORTS.

SO, EACH ONE OF Y'ALL, THE LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES, SUBMITTED PROJECTS TO US VIA AN ONLINE APPLICATION TOOL.

WE HAD MEETINGS WHERE WE WENT THROUGH THE PROJECTS TO MAKE SURE THEY HAD GOOD SCOPES, GOOD PROJECT INFORMATION.

WE ALSO MET WITH FDOT IN BROWARD COUNTY AND ALSO SFMTA, AND THEY WENT THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS THAT THE MUNICIPALITIES DID WHERE THEY HAD TO SUBMIT PROJECTS TO US SO THAT WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME EQUAL PLAYING FIELD.

THEN WE DID AN INTERNAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT.

SO, WE WORKED WITH OUR COMPLETE STREET MASTER PLAN TEAM OUR TEAM FOR CONGESTION MANAGEMENT MOBILITY HUBS, OUR RESILIENCY.

AND WE ALSO LOOKED AT OPPORTUNITIES FOR EV CHARGING.

AND THEN WE ALSO LOOKED AT PROJECTS FROM OUR 2045 PLAN THAT WE THOUGHT WERE SUITABLE TO CONTINUE ON INTO THE 2050 PLAN.

SO THAT'S WHERE THE BIG POOL CAME FROM.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, AFTER THE NEEDS ASSESSMENT, WE LOOKED AT SOME OPPORTUNITIES THAT WERE NOT IDENTIFIED IN CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS OR CORRIDORS AND WHERE WE PROPOSE SOME NEW PROJECTS THAT WERE NOT ORIGINALLY PART OF THE CALL FOR PROJECTS.

SO, YOU'LL SEE SOME NEW GRADE SEPARATION PROJECTS TRI-RAIL STATIONS.

WE HAVE TWO IN THERE THAT DO NOT EXIST RIGHT NOW.

SO, THEY'RE UP IN UP THERE FOR PRIORITIZATION MAST ARM, COUNTYWIDE MAST ARM RETROFITTING AC RETROFITTING AND TRI-RAIL STATIONS.

WE HAVE OUR DIGITAL TWIN THAT'S GOING TO BE IN THERE.

SO, A CHUNK OF MONEY WILL GO TO SETTING THAT UP AND THEN ALSO TRUCK PARKING.

WE HAVE A LOT OF FREIGHT COMING.

WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO PARK THOSE TRUCKS.

SO HOW DO WE FILTER SOME OF THOSE PROJECTS? IF YOU REVIEWED THE LIST, AND YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE SEEN SOME PROJECTS THAT YOU ORIGINALLY SUBMITTED AS PART OF THAT LIST, IT COULD BE BECAUSE OF ONE OF THESE THREE BUCKETS THAT YOU SEE HERE. SO FIRST WE SCRUBBED THE PROJECTS.

IF A PROJECT WAS TOO LOW OF A COST, WE HAD A THRESHOLD OF $3 MILLION.

IF IT WAS LESS THAN $3 MILLION, THAT PROJECT WAS FILTERED OUT OF THE NEEDS ASSESSMENT.

IF THE PROJECT THAT WAS SUBMITTED IS ALREADY PROGRAMED IN OUR TIP OR DRAFT PLAN OF WORK PROGRAM, AND THAT PROJECT WAS IDENTIFIED AS SUCH.

SO, IT WILL NOT GO THROUGH OUR NEEDS ASSESSMENT, BUT IT WILL GET PROGRAMED IN THE TIP AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME PART OF OUR EXISTING PLUS COMMITTED LIST THAT WILL BE PART OF OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN.

AND THEN ALSO THERE ARE DUPLICATES, A LOT OF MUNICIPALITIES, THEY SUBMIT THE SAME PROJECT FOR THE SAME ROADWAY.

SO, WE TAKE THE ONE WITH THE BEST SCOPE, MERGE THE TWO TOGETHER, AND THEN THAT BECOMES THE NEW PROJECT.

SO THEN ALSO FOR OUR NEEDS ASSESSMENT, WE DID AN EVALUATION, A GIS EVALUATION OF ALL THE PROJECTS, PUT THAT ON TOP OF THE FEDERAL AID NETWORK.

AND SO THAT'S WHY YOU SEE ELIGIBILITY.

IF A PROJECT IS NOT ON THE FEDERAL AID NETWORK, IT CANNOT CONSUME ANY OF OUR MPO TRADABLE FUNDS OR STATE DOLLARS.

SO, IF IT'S NOT THERE, WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH THE PROJECT, UNFORTUNATELY.

SO THAT WAS REMOVED FROM THE LIST FEASIBILITY.

WE DID SEND A LIST OF PROJECTS THAT ARE ON STATE FACILITIES AND COUNTY FACILITIES TO THE STATE AND THE COUNTY TO VERIFY THEIR FEASIBILITY AND IF THEY WERE NOT FEASIBLE, WE REMOVED THEM FROM THE LIST.

THERE ARE ALSO SOME PROJECTS THAT WERE MERGED.

KIND OF THE SAME THING WITH THE DUPLICATES.

IF THERE WAS AN OPPORTUNITY, IF A PROJECT WAS TOO LOW OF A COST AND THE SECOND ONE WAS TOO LOW OF A COST THERE, WE COULD MERGE SOME OF THOSE TOGETHER TO MAKE ONE LARGER PROJECT.

AND THEN THERE WERE SOME PROJECTS THAT WE IDENTIFIED THAT MIGHT BE SUITABLE FOR OUR SAFE STREETS FOR ALL.

GRANT PART OF THE BROWARD SAFETY ACTION PLAN.

WE'LL SAVE THOSE PROJECTS, PASS THEM ON TO THAT TEAM SO THEY CAN EVALUATE THEM FURTHER.

AND THEN THE PARTNER INVOLVEMENT, THAT'S SOME PROJECTS THAT WE THOUGHT WERE BETTER SUITED FOR OUR PARTNERS TO TAKE ON INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH OUR NEEDS ASSESSMENT.

SO, WHAT'S MISSING? THE FIRST THING ARE RESILIENCY STUDIES.

I GAVE A PRESENTATION A FEW MONTHS AGO ABOUT THE PRIORITY CORRIDORS THAT CAME OUT OF OUR RESILIENCY NETWORK.

THOSE PROJECTS ARE NOT ON THE LIST YET, BUT THEY WILL BE PART OF IT.

SAME THING WITH SAFETY PROJECTS.

ONCE WE GET OUR BROWARD SAFETY ACTION PLAN PUT TOGETHER, WE'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE PROJECTS THAT WILL COME INTO THE MTP AS PART OF AN AMENDMENT.

SO THAT'S STILL MISSING.

THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 THROUGH 29 CIP PROJECTS.

SO GOING BACK TO OUR EXISTING PLUS COMMITTED PROJECTS, THOSE WILL BE EVENTUALLY A PART OF OUR DRAFT COST FEASIBLE PLAN.

BUT WE DO NOT HAVE THAT TIP READY JUST YET.

ONCE IT IS READY, WE'LL BE ABLE TO PUT IT INTO THE MTP.

CSLIP.

THOSE ARE PROJECTS THAT COME UP ANNUALLY, SO WE DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT NOW, BUT EVERY YEAR WE'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE THEM, AND WE'LL BE ABLE TO INCLUDE THEM AS PART OF THE MTP.

AND THEN OUR PARTNER PROJECTS, WE'RE WAITING FOR THE 2056 COST FEASIBLE PLAN SO THAT WE CAN ABSORB THAT INTO THE MTP.

WE'RE ALSO WAITING FOR SOME BROWARD COUNTY TRANSIT PROJECTS.

ONCE THEY ARE READY TO GO, WE'LL BE ABLE TO AMEND THEM INTO THE PLAN.

SAME THING WITH SOME BROWARD COUNTY PROJECTS AND THEN OUR SEAPORT PROJECTS THAT ARE COMING IN NOVEMBER.

WE'LL BE ABLE TO PUT THOSE INTO THE PLAN.

SO NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT PROGRAMS. THAT WAS A LOT. SO, OUR PROGRAMS LET'S DO A LITTLE BIT OF A WALK THROUGH FROM WHERE WE WERE IN 2045 TO WHERE WE ARE GOING IN 2050.

THIS IS KIND OF SHOWING YOU WHAT PROGRAMS WE HAD BEFORE, WHAT WE THOUGHT WORKED, AND WHERE WE THOUGHT WE COULD DO A LITTLE BIT BETTER.

SO COMPLETE STREET MASTER PLAN AND C SLIP.

THOSE WERE ORIGINALLY PROGRAMS THAT WE HAD BY REFERENCE INTO OUR MTP.

NOW, WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE HAVING SPECIFIC PROJECTS WITH LINE ITEMS FOR THAT COMPLETE STREETS PROGRAM.

SO, WE'LL SEE THAT THOSE TWO MERGE INTO ONE.

AND COMPLETE STREETS WILL HAVE A COMPETITIVE SIDE TO THAT PROGRAM AS WELL.

FOR ROADWAY, WE ORIGINALLY HAD ALL OF OUR ROADWAY PROJECTS THAT YOU THINK OF, LIKE CAPACITY BRIDGES, INTERCHANGES, ALL THAT FUN STUFF, BUT IT ALSO HAD RESILIENCY AS PART OF IT. WE DECIDED TO BREAK THAT INTO TWO.

SO WE HAVE A ROADWAY.

AND THEN RESILIENCY BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF OUR EMPHASIS AREAS.

AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE IT HAS ITS OWN PROGRAM TRANSIT AND MOBILITY HUBS.

WE DECIDED TO MERGE TOGETHER BECAUSE THROUGH THE 2045 PLAN, WE REALIZED WE'RE NOT OPERATING AND MAINTAINING TRANSIT.

WE'RE ACTUALLY COMPLEMENTING THE TRANSIT NETWORK.

SO, PUTTING THOSE TWO TOGETHER FELT LIKE A GOOD MIX.

AND THEN TSM AND SAFETY TWO SEPARATE EMPHASIS AREAS AS PART OF OUR 2050 PLAN, MAKING SURE THAT THEY HAVE THEIR OWN PROGRAM.

SO, THESE ARE THE PROGRAMS AGAIN.

THE FOUR TO THE LEFT ARE THE ONES THAT WE ASSIGNED ALL OF THE COPPER PROJECTS INTO THOSE PROGRAMS. SO COMPLETE STREETS, ROADWAY TRANSIT HUBS AND TECHNOLOGY, ALL OF THOSE ARE WHAT YOU SEE IN THE REPORT.

AND THAT PDF THAT YOU THAT AS PART OF YOUR AGENDA ITEM AND THEN SAFETY AND RESILIENCY, WE'RE STILL GOING TO WORK THOSE OUT.

SO OUR PRIORITIZATION FACTORS AND CRITERIA WON'T GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL HERE.

BUT IT'S HERE FOR REFERENCE.

SHOW YOU WHAT TYPES OF WORK MIXES ARE PUT INTO EACH ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS, AND WHAT ARE SOME SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS ARE FOR THE PROGRAMS. SO, STARTING WITH COMPLETE STREETS, THE GOAL FOR THE COMPLETE STREETS PROGRAM IS TO DO A BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN PROJECTS THAT ADDRESS LOCAL AND REGIONAL GAPS WITHIN THE NETWORK.

SO, THE TYPES OF PROJECTS YOU'LL SEE HERE ARE BIKE LANES, SIDEWALKS, TRAILS SOME LANDSCAPING, LIGHTING REALLY COMPLETING OR GIVING THOSE COMPLETE STREET FIELDS. AT THE BOTTOM, YOU SEE, IT INCLUDES A COMPETITIVE FUNDING PROGRAM THAT IS, OF COURSE, C SLIP.

WE'RE STILL HONORING THAT.

WE STILL HAVE TO USE OUR TAP FUNDS THROUGH A COMPETITIVE PROCESS.

SO, WE'LL STILL BE ABLE TO WORK THAT INTO THIS PROGRAM.

ROADWAY IS ALL OF THE CAPACITY AND FREIGHT TYPE PROJECTS.

SO, THE TYPES OF WORK THAT YOU'LL SEE HERE ARE A LOT OF FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR ROADWAY.

YOU'LL SEE BRIDGES, TRUCK PARKING, GRADE SEPARATION, NEW LANES, THAT SORT OF THING.

AND ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS HERE ARE GRADE SEPARATION FEASIBILITY STUDIES.

THOSE ARE GOING TO BE A BIG PART OF THE 2050 PLAN MOSTLY FOCUSED ON RAILROAD GRADE SEPARATION SO THAT WE CAN MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S LESS CROSSINGS TRANSIT AND HUBS COMPLEMENTING OUR TRANSIT PARTNERS, SPECIFICALLY THE PRIMO PLAN.

WE HAVE A SERIES OF MOBILITY HUBS WITHIN THE PLAN.

WE ALSO HAVE SOME TRANSIT IMPROVEMENTS THAT SFMTA HAD SUBMITTED AND SOME PARK AND RIDE, LOTS OF THE SORT.

AND SO, THE HIGHLIGHT THERE ARE THE MOBILITY HUBS THAT WILL COMPLEMENT PRIMO FOR TECHNOLOGY.

THIS ONE'S FUN.

IT'S REALLY THE CAPITAL FOR ALL KINDS OF TECHNOLOGY.

SO, YOU'LL SEE EV CHARGING THERE.

WE DID THEM BACK-TO-BACK ONE WEEK AFTER THE OTHER.

GIVES YOU A SENSE OF THE ATTENDANCE.

IT WAS WELL ATTENDED.

SO, WE'RE SEEING MORE AND MORE PROJECTS THAT ARE MULTIMODAL AND FOCUS.

SO WHERE ARE THESE PROJECTS AT? ARE THEY IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES? ARE WE SEEING MORE MONEY ALLOCATED TOWARDS THOSE COMMUNITIES THAT THAT MIGHT NEED A LITTLE MORE ASSISTANCE ON THE TRANSPORTATION SIDE, BUT THEN NOT FORGETTING THE CHILDREN AS WELL? NOW, EACH ONE OF THESE MATRICES ARE THINGS THAT WE LOOK AT FROM THE SECOND AMENDMENT AS TO HOW WE RANK AND RECOMMEND THESE PROJECTS.

RECONNECTING COMMUNITIES.

WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ON MARCH 13TH, WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT WE WON THE $1.5 MILLION GRANT.

OUR NEXT STEPS ARE AWAITING NEXT STEPS FROM US DOT.

AND ADDITIONALLY, WE ARE ALSO VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ON MARCH 14TH, WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT WE RECEIVED THE SMART GRANT, THE $2 MILLION THAT WE HAD APPLIED FOR. THE NEXT STEPS IS THE MPO IS CURRENTLY IDENTIFYING USE CASES THROUGH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNER INTERVIEWS THAT WILL LEAD TO DEVELOPMENT OF AN IT ARCHITECTURE CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS PLAN AND A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN GUIDING SMART METRO DEVELOPMENT, DELIVERY AND SUSTAINED APPLICATION.

NEXT UP WE HAVE THE PROTECT PLANNING GRANT, WHICH WE ARE STILL AWAITING NEWS ON.

NINE WE LOOKED AT IN QUITE A LITTLE BIT OF QUITE A BIT OF DETAIL.

WE NARROWED IT DOWN TO THREE, WHICH WE PRESENTED TO THE PUBLIC AT A RECENT WORKSHOP.

WE'VE ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH A COUPLE ROUNDS OF WORKSHOPS WITH THE PUBLIC.

AND I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE THREE AND LET YOU KNOW WHICH IS THE ONE THAT THAT FDOT IS RECOMMENDING.

THE FIRST ONE YOU CAN SEE IS BASICALLY THE DO NOTHING OR A NO BUILD.

AND I'LL SHOW YOU THAT IN MORE DETAIL.

WE HAVE WHAT WE CALL AN EASTBOUND TRIPLE LEFT TURN AT GRADE INTERSECTION, WHICH IS AN ENHANCEMENT TO THE EXISTING.

WE BE PROVIDING TRIPLE RIGHT TURN LANES.

ALL THESE MOVEMENTS WOULD BE SIGNALIZED AS THEY ARE TODAY.

BY THE WAY, FOR THE SOUTHBOUND TO EASTBOUND MOVEMENT TODAY, THAT'S A DUAL LEFT TURN LANE.

AND WE'D BE PROVIDING TRIPLE LEFT TURN LANES.

AND THEN FOR THE WESTBOUND TO NORTHBOUND RIGHT TURN LANE TODAY, THAT'S A SINGLE LANE THAT WOULD BE DUAL RIGHT TURN LANES.

WE REFER TO IT AS A SHARED USE PATH ON THE OUTER PART OF OF THE ROADWAY, BASICALLY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION EVERYWHERE WE COULD FIT IT.

SO WE DO HAVE A CONTINUOUS SHARED USE PATH, VARIES IN WIDTH WHERE WE COULD PROVIDE ADDITIONAL WIDTH.

WE'RE TRYING TO GO A LITTLE BIT BEYOND THE MINIMUM, WHICH IS THE 12FT BASICALLY THROUGH THE ENTIRE INTERSECTION AS YOU SEE THERE.

ALSO, IF YOU LOOK AT THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION, YOU LOOK AT THE CROSSWALKS.

WE'VE TRIED TO BRING THE INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LITTLE BIT MORE COMPACT.

SO YOU BASICALLY HAVE A BOX MORE SIMILAR TO AN EXISTING INTERSECTION.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE EXISTING, YOU DON'T HAVE THAT BOX.

YOU HAVE A SERIES OF STAGE CROSSING CROSSINGS.

IT'S BASICALLY A ZIGZAG TO CROSS THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.

SO THAT'S AN IMPROVEMENT THERE.

AND THEN ONE THING THAT WE DID, WHICH IS SIGNIFICANT IN ORDER TO FIT THE SHARED USE PATH, PARTICULARLY ON THE THE BOTTOM AREA OF THE INTERSECTION WHERE THE THEATER IS, WE HAVE A HISTORIC THEATER THERE.

WE'VE SHIFTED THE ENTIRE ALIGNMENT, ACTUALLY SEVERAL FEET TO THE NORTH, AND THAT CREATED SPACE TO PROVIDE A SHARED USE PATH AND A LITTLE BIT OF A GREEN BUFFER FOR THOSE AREAS NEAR AND AROUND THE HISTORIC THEATER.

YOU CAN SEE IN THE MIDDLE THERE WE WILL KEEP SOME GREEN AREAS.

THEY'VE BEEN REDUCED A LITTLE BIT FROM WHAT'S OUT THERE TODAY, BUT WE CAN STILL PROVIDE SOME LANDSCAPING AND STREETSCAPING IN TERMS OF RIGHT OF WAY IMPACTS.

IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE TWO BOXES THERE, THEY POINT OUT AT THE PNC BANK, THERE WOULD BE SOME RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION NECESSARY.

IT WOULD ALL BE THAT GREEN AREA THAT'S IN FRONT OF THE BANK.

IT DOES NOT IMPACT THE BUILDINGS.

IT DOES NOT IMPACT THE PARKING LOT.

IN ESSENCE, WE'VE BEEN IMPACTING EXISTING GREEN AREA IN FRONT OF THE BANK.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE WOULD NEED A SLIVER OF RIGHT OF WAY THAT'S OWNED BY EAST POINT TOWERS, THE CONDOMINIUM THAT'S THERE.

AGAIN, THE AREA THAT WE'D BE IMPACTING WOULD BE A FEW FEET.

THAT IS CURRENTLY JUST GREEN AREA IN FRONT OF THAT AREA.

SO IN ESSENCE, IF YOU LIVED THERE, YOU WOULD JUST SEE A A WIDER SIDEWALK OR THE SIDEWALK THERE.

TODAY MAY BE 5 OR 6FT.

IT WOULD BE WIDENED OUT TO PROVIDE THAT CONTINUOUS SHARED USE PATH.

AND SO WE LOOKED AT A COUPLE ROUNDABOUT ALTERNATIVES AND I'LL TAKE A STEP BACK.

IN ADDITION TO THIS ROUNDABOUT ALTERNATIVE, WHICH YOU CAN SEE HAS A GRADE SEPARATION.

AND BOTH OF THEM ACTUALLY HAVE A GRADE SEPARATION.

THIS ONE HAS A GRADE SEPARATION FOR THE EASTBOUND TO NORTHBOUND MOVEMENT, WHICH IS ONE OF THE LARGEST MOVEMENTS THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.

WE ALSO DID LOOK AT A FULLY AT GRADE ROUNDABOUT, AND THE FULLY AT GRADE ROUNDABOUT DID NOT WORK.

WE ACTUALLY LOOKED AT A COUPLE VARIATIONS OF THAT.

SO REALLY THE ONLY WAY FOR A ROUNDABOUT TO WORK FROM A OR AND THIS IS A MULTI-LANE ROUNDABOUT, BY THE WAY, FOR IT TO WORK IS YOU NEED SOME TYPE OF GRADE SEPARATION.

SO THIS IS THE FIRST VARIATION, WHICH IS THE ONE WITH THE FLYOVER.

YOU CAN SEE THERE WE HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO LANES, IN SOME CASES THREE LANES THROUGH THE ROUNDABOUT.

WE HAVE THE SHARED USE PATHS AS WELL.

SIMILAR WE TRY TO MAKE THEM AS COMPARABLE AS WE COULD.

THE BIG DIFFERENCE HERE, YOU SEE IT'LL BE THE COST IS A LITTLE BIT MORE A BIG PART OF THAT IS THERE YOU CAN SEE THERE'S ADDITIONAL RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION IN THE AREA OF THE PNC BANK PROPERTY AND A LITTLE BIT MORE IN TERMS OF THE EASTPOINT TOWERS PROPERTY AS WELL.

THE ROUNDABOUT AS YOU ALL KNOW, IS YIELD CONTROL.

AND SO THERE ARE THREE MOVEMENTS THAT WOULD GO YIELD THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.

AND THEN YOU ALSO HAVE THREE OTHER MOVEMENTS THAT TECHNICALLY WOULD BE FREE FLOW THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO CONTROL FOR PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS.

AND THAT'S WHERE YOU SEE THOSE CROSSWALKS.

AND SO IN ORDER TO TO PROVIDE THAT CONTROL FOR PEDESTRIANS, WE WOULD HAVE TO PROVIDE SOME TYPE OF SIGNAL THERE, PEDESTRIAN ACTIVATED.

THERE ARE REAL SIGNAL OR SOME TYPE OF FLASHING DEVICE AND SO FORTH.

SO THAT'S SOMETHING THAT IF THIS ALTERNATIVE WERE TO MOVE FORWARD, WOULD HAVE TO BE EVALUATED IN MORE DETAIL.

BECAUSE WHAT HAPPENS AS YOU GET MORE AND MORE PEDESTRIAN ACTIVATIONS, YOU START RUINING THE THE OPERATIONS OF THE ROUNDABOUT, WHICH IS, YOU KNOW, BASICALLY ALMOST FREE FLOW, FREE FLOW. AND SO THE OTHER VARIATION IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME, RATHER THAN GOING UP AND OVER THE INTERSECTION, YOU CAN SEE THERE WE WOULD ACTUALLY GO BELOW.

THE BIG BENEFIT OBVIOUSLY IS YOU DON'T HAVE THE OVERPASS GOING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, AND INSTEAD YOU'D HAVE SOMETHING GOING UNDERGROUND.

WE EVALUATED THEM.

THIS IS JUST THE SUMMARY MATRIX.

BUT IN ESSENCE, IF YOU WERE TO EVALUATE THEM, THE ALTERNATIVE THREE TENDS TO RATE A LITTLE BIT HIGHER.

OVERALL. AND BASED ON THE FEEDBACK WE FEEDBACK WE GOT FROM THE PUBLIC IT WAS PRETTY MUCH CONSENSUS THAT THAT EVERYBODY WAS IN AGREEMENT THAT THEY DID PREFER ALTERNATIVE THREE, THE AT GRADE INTERSECTION.

AND SO MOVING FORWARD, THAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE THAT WE'RE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH.

WE'RE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD AND HAVE A PUBLIC MEETING TO CONCLUDE THE STUDY.

AND NOW THIS IS THE VIEW GETTING FROM OBVIOUSLY STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE LOOKING SOUTH AGAIN.

IF YOU CAN SEE YOU CAN SEE THE THEATER THERE.

LOOK FOR THE LITTLE TOWER THAT'LL LET YOU ORIENT YOURSELF, GIVE YOU A SENSE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS.

NOW IF WE GET DOWN LOWER, JUST ANOTHER VIEW OF THE INTERSECTION.

FOCUSING AGAIN, THE THEATERS UP ON THE TOP MIDDLE, WE SHOW THERE SOME GATEWAY FEATURES THAT HAS NOT BEEN DESIGNED.

IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THIS INTERCHANGE, YOU'RE AWARE THAT IT CONNECTS FIVE MAJOR ROADWAY SYSTEMS IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AREA I-95, PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY, FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE, SR NINE AND SR SEVEN, US 441 NORTHWEST SEVENTH AVENUE.

AND WE'RE HAPPY TO SAY THAT THIS IS ONE OF MANY PROJECTS THAT ARE COMING DOWN THE PIPELINE AS PART OF THE MOVING FLORIDA FORWARD INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVE.

SO THIS IS A PROJECT OVERVIEW.

LIKE WE MENTIONED, WE JUST STARTED CONSTRUCTION.

IT WILL TAKE US THROUGH FALL OF 2031 WITH AN ESTIMATED CURRENT PROJECT COST OF 908 MILLION.

THERE WILL BE TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES, TRAFFIC SHIFTS AND ROADWAY DETOURS THAT ARE SCHEDULED TO HAPPEN AT NIGHT OR OVERNIGHT.

AND WE JUST LAUNCHED A DEDICATED PROJECT WEBSITE.

THIS IS A RENDERING OF WHAT THE FINAL INTERCHANGE WILL LOOK LIKE AND IT'S ULTIMATE CONFIGURATION.

WE DO HAVE A VIDEO IN A COUPLE OF SLIDES THAT WILL GIVE YOU SOME MOVING VISUALS OF THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE HAPPENING ON THIS PROJECT.

SO LIKE I MENTIONED, THERE WILL BE LANE CLOSURES.

THERE WILL BE DETOURS.

AT TIMES WE WILL HAVE AROUND THE CLOCK WORK ZONES.

OF COURSE, THAT ULTIMATELY WILL INCREASE TRAVEL TIMES WHEN GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.

VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE DURING DAYTIME HOURS, WE'RE COMMITTED TO HAVING THE SAME AMOUNT OF LANES THAT YOU SEE CURRENTLY IN PLACE.

NOW WITH HAVING OUR OUR NIGHTTIME DETOURS AND CLOSURES HAPPENING, THEN SO THERE WILL BE POTENTIAL IMPACTS.

YOU KNOW, THIS IS A PRESENTATION THAT WE'RE SHOWING TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND TO OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS.

LIKE WITH ANY PROJECT, YOU WILL HAVE DUST, NOISE, VIBRATION.

THAT WILL COME OUT ON GOOGLE MAPS, WAZE, APPLE MAPS, AND OF COURSE, WE'LL ANNOUNCE, YOU KNOW, THE TRADITIONAL WAY, YOU KNOW, TO THE TRAVELING PUBLIC, WE'LL HAVE OVERHEAD SIGNAGE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVELING PUBLIC CAN PREPARE FOR ANY UPCOMING CLOSURES OR DETOURS.

PART OF OUR OUTREACH PLAN.

WE DO HAVE A DEDICATED MULTILINGUAL OUTREACH TEAM.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? WE'LL HAVE PROJECT INFORMATION IN ENGLISH, SPANISH AND HAITIAN CREOLE WILL BE ENGAGING WITH THE COMMUNITY ON A REGULAR BASIS THROUGH POP UP EVENTS, THROUGH INDOOR THROUGH DOOR TO DOOR OUTREACH, MAKING SURE THAT WE CAN BRING THE INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC.

ONCE COMPLETED, THIS PROJECT WILL FACILITATE A FASTER, SAFER, AND MORE CONVENIENT TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WHILE PROVIDING DRIVERS THE CHOICE BETWEEN USING NON-TOLLED GENERAL USE LANES OR EXPRESS LANES DURING THEIR COMMUTE.

THE GOLDEN GLADES INTERCHANGE LINKS FIVE MAJOR ROADWAYS I-95, THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY, FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE, STATE ROAD NINE, AND STATE ROAD SEVEN. WE BEGIN BY FLYING ALONG THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY, MOVING EAST TOWARD THE GOLDEN GLADES INTERCHANGE, WHERE THIS PROJECT WILL REHABILITATE THE EXISTING PAVEMENT. DRIVERS WISHING TO ACCESS THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY CAN ENTER AT THE NORTHWEST 17TH AVENUE ENTRANCE RAMP.

THE EXISTING TWO LANE EXIT RAMP ALONG STATE ROAD 826 WILL BE RECONFIGURED AND JOIN THE NEW LANE FROM NORTHWEST 167TH TO CONNECT WITH SOUTHBOUND I-95. THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY ENTRANCE RAMP, CURRENTLY NEXT TO NORTHWEST 12TH AVENUE, WILL ALSO BE RECONFIGURED AND CONVERTED TO AN EXIT RAMP, LEADING DRIVERS TO A NEW FLYOVER BRIDGE WHICH PROVIDES DIRECT ACCESS TO NORTHBOUND I-95.

WE WILL NOW RETURN TO AN OVERHEAD VIEW OF THE GOLDEN GLADES INTERCHANGE, BEFORE FOCUSING ON ENHANCEMENTS FOR FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE AND SOUTHBOUND I-95.

RATHER THAN TRANSITIONING TO I-95 THROUGH ONE NON-TOLLED GENERAL USE LANE AS DRIVERS DO NOW, THIS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL LANE.

TWO LANES WILL BE ADDED TO CONNECT THE NON-TOLL GENERAL USE LANES BETWEEN FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE AND SOUTHBOUND I-95.

ADDITIONALLY, A THIRD LANE WILL BE CONSTRUCTED TO PROVIDE DIRECT ACCESS TO I-95 EXPRESS IN THE SOUTHBOUND DIRECTION.

THOSE DRIVERS WISHING TO TRAVEL WEST ON THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY WILL DO SO VIA A REBUILT RAMP, IN A SIMILAR CONFIGURATION TO WHAT EXISTS TODAY.

THE NEW CONFIGURATION WILL ALSO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE GOLDEN GLADES MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION FACILITY.

ADDITIONALLY, THE EXIT TO STATE ROAD SEVEN WILL BE MOVED FURTHER SOUTH.

THE SECTION OF NORTHBOUND I-95 LOCATED SOUTH OF THE INTERCHANGE WILL ALSO BE REBUILT.

COMMUTERS USING THE EXPRESS LANES WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO EXIT AT THE GOLDEN GLADES MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION FACILITY.

REMAIN ON 95 EXPRESS, MOVE INTO THE NON-TOLLED GENERAL USE LANES, OR TRANSITION ONTO FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE OR THE PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY.

DRIVERS IN THE NON-TOLL GENERAL USE LANES WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE FROM TRANSITIONING ONTO FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE, ACCESSING WESTBOUND PALMETTO EXPRESSWAY, OR CONTINUING NORTH ON I-95.

A NEW RAMP WILL PROVIDE DRIVERS BETTER ACCESS AT STATE ROAD SEVEN AND NORTHWEST 167TH STREET.

THE INTERSECTION OF NORTHWEST SECOND AVENUE AND NORTHWEST 167TH STREET WILL ALSO BE WIDENED TO ACCOMMODATE MORE VEHICLES.

DRIVERS WILL BE ABLE TO DIRECTLY ACCESS THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE.

ENHANCEMENTS ARE ALSO SLATED FOR STATE ROAD NINE AND THE SURROUNDING ROADS.

CURRENT NORTHBOUND MOVEMENTS ALONG STATE ROAD NINE WILL BE CHANGED TO ALLOW DRIVERS QUICKER ACCESS ONTO NORTHBOUND I-95.

CURRENT RAMPS WILL BE RECONFIGURED TO ALIGN WITH PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED ENHANCEMENTS WITHIN THE INTERCHANGE.

THE GOLDEN GLADES INTERCHANGE ENHANCEMENT PROJECT WILL WORK TO STRENGTHEN THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FOR DRIVERS BY EXPANDING THE SOUTH FLORIDA EXPRESS AND MANAGE LANES NETWORK, AS WELL AS THE NON-TOLLED GENERAL USE LANES.
